The 2008-2009 NHL Injury Thread

Why is Joe doing his own snow removal with a herniated disk in his back????

That was my first thought. He could afford someone to do it for him, or at least make one of his kids do it. He probably was tired of being cooped up inside recovering.

I haven't seen it:

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=260327&lid...s=topStory_main

But, this has to be scary. A second potential head injury this soon.

[EDIT]: Update. Concussion ---> http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=260499&lid...s=topStory_main

What a nightmare. He is never going to be the same player he once was.

Looks like a second straight season without Bergeron for my fantasy keeper team. :(

I know this is supposed to be for on ice injuries...but Matt Stajan is out after being hit in the eye with a soccer ball during hallway warm ups on Boxing Day.

Senators C Cody Bass, injured in a fight on Dec. 27 against Calgary's Eric Nystrom, will have shoulder surgery next week and likely won't be back in the lineup this season. "I'm not sure of the time frame, but it's obviously an extensive period," said Hartsburg. The injury is a tough blow for Bass, who is still trying to find his place in the organization and has played 12 games for the big club this season

Another fighting injury, out for the season.

Marion Gaborik...Hip surgery. Out up to 10 weeks.

Star Tribune (local Minneapolis paper) is stating that it is 10-14 weeks. Well past the trade deadline, so much for the Wild getting anything for Gaborik.

My guess is Gaborik has played his last game for the Wild.
