Bauer 77 flex sticks

Recommended Posts

Just curious, are the 77 flex senior sticks intensely flexible? Right now I use an ST shaft with an 85 flex, but seems a bit more flexible than an 85. I'm around 5'10 and like to cut my sticks up to my bottom lip when not on skates. I was interested in picking up the one90 sticks from hockey monkey, and only have a 77 flex in my curve and wanted to make sure that if I took a shot with the 77 flex it wouldn't blow up. Anyone use this flex?

Read the "Finally got it!" thread that's on the first page of the forum. Going down in flex is worth a shot if you've never used anything but 85. And when you say "seems a bit more flexible than an 85" what does that mean? Are you saying your 85 ST feels like softer than other 85 flex sticks, or other 85 Eastons, or what?

A 77 will not "blow up". I don't use a Bauer, but I use a 75 from TPS, Warrior and Montreal. The most ignorant comment I get every time in the locker room is someone telling me to use 100 flex so I don't break my stick, thinking a 75 will fold in half like a wet napkin.

I've been using 85s for awhile now but I am definitely looking to step down to 77s soon (5'11" 140)...The only thing that I have heard is that not all 77s feel the same, so it might be in your best interest to buy in person if that is at all possible. But yes it seems like going down in flex will help many people out!

I use a 77 flex one 90 and love it. About 5'11", 200 lbs. Stick really whips when I shoot. Give it a try, by the time I cut mine, I'd say it feels about 80 or so.

I've probably used every flex there is and can find positive things to say about each one. I decided last year to try out an 85 Easton ST and loved the whip i got on snap shots, although I did notice some lag in my slap shots, but nothing too major. The 85 ST shaft (cut blue st ops) feels a little lower than normal Easton 85 flexes, and basically I just wanted to know if I would feel a significant difference. I really like a nice flex, but am not sure if the 77 is too much flex..

Do any of you guys experience any "lag" that I've heard about using a 77? I've had tps whips and liked them just fine!

I am 5'10" 180 and I use the 77 flex XXX-Lite. I had been using the 87 flex XXX-Lites, but when the XXXXs came out and the XXX-Lites went on clearance I had to stock up. My LHS only had 77 flex in my curve, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. Turned out to be a great decision. Went back about 2 weeks later and cleaned them out of their remaining 77 flexes.
