Switching Telus Phone Onto Bell

Recommended Posts

So I looked around and didn't really get anyhting clear, so I thought I'd ask here.

I'm on Bell. And, a friend gave me her Palm Treo 700wx that she used with Telus. I want to switch this over to Bell. Since they both use CDMA will this work. People said no, since you have to buy it from Bell, and they will tell. This doesn't have Telus written anywhere on the body, so can i work around this. Anyone with experience or anything would be great before I go into Bell and say somehting wrong and completly ruin my chances. Bottom line, I just want this phone under my existing contract.

Thanks alot.

It can't hurt to go into a Bell store and ask. They won't charge you with fraud and cancel your account for trying to use a different phone. Besides, unless you frequent the store often, no one will know who you are, what kind of account you have, or anything really.

Walk in, tell them you have this CDMA Palm phone, can it be used with their network, they'll test it or try to transfer and it will either work or be locked to Telus and you'll be bummed.

Google Palm Treo 700wx unlock and see if someone on the internet knows. There are forums and sites dedicated to cell phones/small electronics and experts much more versed on this than people on a hockey forum.

Can't work. I had always used Telus and then I bought a Blackberry. It was a Bell blackberry, so they wouldn't let me yuou telus. That being said, i think bell is the most screwed up company for telephone service, and actually cancelled my blackberry and went out and bought a telus phone today!
