frankie.lombardo 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2008 Hello All,I currently have the graf 735 skates and I was looking to buy a pair of one 95 skates.I was wondering what the major differences were?I liked my 735's but the quality of the skates were poor, and are falling apart. Joker518 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2008 Are you looking for the differences in the way they fit? Obviously they are constructed very differently from each other.
frankie.lombardo 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2008 yes I am looking for the differences in the fitting. The graf 735 fit me perfectly, they just falling apart too quickly. And the 735's were too low cut for me.
frankie.lombardo 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2008 Do they fit similar or would it be better to get a different skate?I am looking into NBH because once I left NBH it seems like I am having skate problems left and right.

duch 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2008 You'll need to readjust to the more on your heels pitch on a pair of Nike/Bauer skates as well. Not as forward agressive lean on them like the Grafs. You may need to have them contoured or put in heel lifts if you cannat adjust. I found putting in Superfeet insoles did the trick for me, lifted up my heel area enough to make the transition a bit easier to manage when I use my old XXII's occassionly for pickup or my son's practice sessions. I'm still a bit mystified that you 735's aren't holding up well however. I bought my pair about seven months aga and they still look good as new after using them regularly for my summer hockey league an now into the winter season. Grafs are usually pretty durable and outlast most of it's major competators skates.

And my cousin is a 6.5 regular width, so what would be the approximate size when we go try on the vapor XXXX and one 95?
duch 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2008 From what I've read on this sight you can go down one to one and a half size with the One 90/95's but then again this is a generalization and it really depends on your feet. I'd never recommend you buy a skate on someones opinion as far as sizing, always try on few pair of the skates your planning on investing in before making a decision. Another thing to consider is Grafs are a slimmer fitting skate in general ( specifically the lower number 700 series like your 735's). You'll get a slightly wider fit in the Vapor line with a slightly wider heel area and lots of toe box room. The One90/95's will have a heel closer to the Graf fit and a slightly snugger all round fit with a little more toe box room than your Grafs. You see it all depends on what is more acceptable as far as fit for you. My Vapor XXII's are a size 8 D and I find they have a lot more room in them than my Graf 735's overall but they are still responsive enough on the ice so I've hung on to them. My Grafs are a 7.5 Wide and fit snuggly but are still comfortable enough not to cause me any concerns. I cannot wear a D width in a Graf skate though because they are simply too tight a fit. ddbowdoin 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2008 Does anyone here think making that transition would probably not be a wise decision? My one95's fit me absolutely perfect, and I can honestly say its the first time in my life that I have owned a perfect fitting skate. When I was skate shopping I could barely get my foot into the 735, nevermind lace them up. I felt they were a narrower boot and have considerably less depth than the 95. duch 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2008 You're absolutely right ddbowdoin the Graf has less depth and is a slimmer fitting skate. This is the point I'm trying to get across. It may be a radical change to go from Graf to a Nike/Bauer skate. There is nothing wrong with either make but both companies have a totally different concept of how a skate should be positioned on the ice for maximum performance and response. I ,myself, seem to have the ability to readadjust very quickly to either concept but some people find it very difficult if not impossible to change. As I stated previously between fit differences and recontouring or heel lifts it could be an adventure changing from one to the other.
Jordan 13 Report post Posted October 13, 2008 He said that he was in a "regular" width 735, he could try a C width in the 0ne 95s, if the vapors are short on volume.
frankie.lombardo 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2008 thanks everyone I will have to go to my local store when the skate fitting guy is back from vacation.I will defently have to try a C width in the one 95's. I will let you know how I do.Thanks again
lohnman 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2008 I might be wrong on this, but when you go to a C width, the volume also decreases some along with the width. I looked all over, could never find anyone who could answer this question for me. I ended up getting the C width One95s for my son, and the depth is perfect, much like a one90. He had skated the previous 2 seasons in One90s, I was concerned that the new One95 last would be too deep, the c width seemed to fit him perfect both depth and width wise. Nice skate, I just wish the boot was a little lower. My son has actually been looking to get grafs next time, I was thinking that the 735 would be a good match for him, so I have been reading this thread with much interest. We have the bauers with a combo radius witth a foward pitch, so I would think the transition to Grafs would be easy, it would just be a matter of finding the right boot to fit his foot. Here in Maine there are not any dealers that carry Graf, which makes it difficult to find the right fit.
Cavs019 710 Report post Posted October 14, 2008 That's wrong. I have 7C One90s and 7C One95s and the 95s are considerably shallower.

rmnyi 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2008 Graf 709's in 9.5W fit me like a glove but I am curious about the depth in the one90's or 95's. I have a high instep which causes me a lot of issues with most skates. How is the depth on the one90's or 95's?
