Those were my favorite skates i've ever owned, get them for sure. The fit is similar to the current, er, i guess they aren't current anymore synergy series (ie. 900, 1100 etc.)

I tried them on in the shop not too long ago. I came from Tacks, and they felt quite similar. Nice and wide in EE width, and felt very comfortable. I'd be happy with them if they didn't want so much for them here.

I liked the old Easton 1100's myself and wore a 8 EE. Also came from CCM's a few years back. I find that Sports Chek carries some of the older models of Easton skates here in Canada, Ontario to be exact. Each year they come up with some older model high end skates and have them on sale the beginning of the new hockey season. If I need new skates I'll pick up a pair for myself or my son for the new season. I'm currently in Grafs so I won't be needing skates for at least another two years if not more but I picked up a pair of Synergy 900's for my son at $99.00 CDN this year. These where at least $ 300 skates a few years back. I picked up my 1100's I had for less than $200 CDN a couple of years back . These cost at least $500 new. This year they have the 1300C's on for $279.99 a skate that cost almost $700 when it was new. The 1500C,s are on for for somewhere between 3 to $400 as well and now they have the Mission 100 AG's on for $169.99. With deals like this why would I buy a new model skate for hundreds of dollars more. If you don't mind a high end skate a couple of years old I recommend Sports Chek if your looking for a good pair new blades. ( By the way I got a great deal on the Grafs from a buddy of mine working in a LHS because they where on clearance otherwise I would have picked up the 1500C's)

Does anyone know where I can get a pair of 2001 - 2003 z-air regular or comp or comp se in a size 9d? I think these skates are the best once broken in. I've never tried the 2004 version but if I can find inexpensive pair I'll give them a try.

The Z-Air composite. Nice skate but very stiff. Bullet proof. You'll get lots of durability out of those babies.

I believe there where comfort issues with the Z-Air Composite skate. Look up epinions.com and you'll probably have a few reviews on the Z-Air Composite there.

4 years on my Comp SEs and they still go strong.

How do I describe my foot... Moderate heel, erring to the side of narrow, moderate-wide mid foot and wide forefoot. Duck feet. moderate to high volume, moderate arch. Best Graf for me is the 735.

Hope that helps.

Buddy of mine had them. He threw the remains out after six months of beer league use and borrowed a pair of my old 852s.
