I apolgize if this has been done before (I'm sure it has, but I couldn't find it).

Who's from Minnesota and where do you play?

I play in Brooklyn Park, as well as the Super Rink.

I've skated at most of those, but it's been awhile for a few.

Never been to the St. Thomas rink, is that one nice?

Is that all for leagues, or open hockey as well?

I play in Burnsville, Blake, Breck, St. Thomas, Minnetonka, Hopkins, Richfield, Yackel, Wakota, Highland and MMH semi-regularly and the Super Rink once a year. Mostly for the AHA, but a fair amount of pickup and open skates too.

AHA and JMS, I've played at practically every arena around the Twin Cities between the two. St Thomas is a good arena, nice facilities, lots of parking, good location. I enjoy playing there.

You guys play in a lot of different places, is that just AHA stuff or traveling type leagues? Both my mens leagues are just at 1 place.

If I was to name every place I had ever played in, the list would be huge. All the traveling in youth and high school got us to a bunch of places around the state.

I've played at others, but these are just the ones I've played at recently. I've also played at Augsburg Arena, St Paul Fairgrounds Coliseum (i'm getting old) Victory Memorial Arena, Edison Arena (Might be renamed now), Parade Ice Arena, Xcel Center, Braemar Arena.etc.etc.etc

Ah yes, the Lee and Rose Warner Coliseum. Nothing like walking over 100 feet of gravel encrusted rubber to get from the dressing room to the ice surface. The faint hint of manure smell is nice too.

My two least favorites are the Coliseum and Parade. I have to play a scrimmage at the latter tonight. Wonder if we get a locker room or the tin shed.

I liked Parade last time I skated there. The worst place I had played at was Biff Adams (I think that's the name, we played St. Paul Harding). This was back when I was in Peewees (around 96-98). You had to get dressed in one tiny room in a rotation because the room wasn't big enough for everyone, then move to another room that didn't have a ceiling to get your equipment off after the game.

Favorite places were always the Champlin Ice Forum (home rink), always liked the vibe of a high school game in Elk River and loved the old school atmosphere of Grand Rapids and Greenway.

I usually play at Edina (minnesota made rink), bloomington ice garden, st louis park and richfield. I remember when i was in bantams we had a tourney up north and it seemed like they put a damn barn over an outdoor rink. The boards were wood so when you got hit you got the wind knocked out of you and the "glass" was chain link fence...what a nightmare.

Yoke, what's up buddy! I am playing D1 AHA for the Yellow Jackets this year. We moved up from D2. Jarick moved up a level because he didn't want to play with scrubs like me. :-) Yoke, if you ever need a slow player for pickup/open to make the rest of you look fast, pm me or e-mail / call me.

That goes for you too Jarick. Are there any Wild skates coming up?

I don't really do much open hockey anymore, since I play at the Super Rink on Sunday nights. I stopped going to that pick up thing I was going to because it just got too expensive.

The Brooklyn Park league has gotten real fun, though, since we moved up to the gold division.

Let me know if you are skating in some pickup stuff, I'd love to come and skate (as long as it doesn't cost a bunch).

Whoops, I meant Pleasant, not Parade. Parade is a solid rink.

Yeah, C2 is fast. Twice I almost ran back to the locker room to grab my inhaler. I hope I get in better shape soon...

No clue on the Wild skates though. I skated with Kenpo a few times at JMS this summer, he's actually a good skater for a kid who started so late.
