LkptTiger 1 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Wow - I'm pretty bad at this. Then again, it looks like most of these bands had their days well before I was even born...

RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Out of the crew we had going at work on it (keep in mind...it's a radio station, so we're kinda at an advantage) range in age from 24-mid 50's.I do know that there are a LOT of British bands...and WAY too many Boy Bands. Powerfibers 8 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 I got 124 by myself. I am embarrassed at how much MTV I watched as a kid. Just ashamed I knew the Communards and Fat Boys among others. Not a good childhood I guess.I wil admit, I had to look up how to spell some of them.

Up to this point, we've had a rule that we can't look to other sources for clues...or spellings.Im guessing you are older than

I cheated on Communards, actually Googled for how to spell Bronski Beat and several others (Won't say who because that might give too much away). Remembered the little guy's face.It was a blast. I actually got 2 or 3 more just now. I'll never get more than 150, but might bring it in to work to see who can help. Good idea to set a no look up rule. I will not do it again. Allsmokenopancake 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 I think the test would be more skewed toward music fans like myself from Ireland, or others from England and the area. A lot of the US bands were fairly mainstream over with us, but the british bands, while big at home were not big over here. How many of you, in terms of general pop music would know Skunk Anansie, or the Manic Street Preachers, where they were big names at home (and skunk are also excellent)

I've heard of both of those bands, but have only heard MSP, yet I've never seen a picture of either of them until tonight.I've been able to get 82 so far. It's interesting how they've used later pictures for some of the bands, so we have to age them in our minds.
D-MaN88 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 I'm only 20 so I'm not going to lie, not only have I probably ever heard 1/2 of those bands, I definitely haven't seen them. From what I did know though without snooping and looking around, I got 33 correct. I was actually amazed I got that many.
ultraman7k 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 got about 47 including a bunch of brit pop bands that possibly no one has ever heard of...like hear'say.
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 Well, not all of us work at Radio's station, so we can try to figure this among ourselves. However, to give people the fun of getting some on their own, we won't put names yet.EDIT: I added the list later in the thread with the names. These are the ones still missing. If you want to PM or post the ones you have, I'll add them to the list. By the way, some of you may be too young to get this reference, but I'm quite sure we're going to have a lot of V8 moments when we're told some of the bands!203 of 2703)8)11)13)19)23)33)35)36)41)42)45)48)57)65)73)81)82)97)99)102)103)104)112)116)120)126)128)129)130)131)132)136)138)139)140)142)148)151)152)153)157)158)169)171)172)178)180)194)195)197)198)199)203)206)208)209)215)216)218)221)223)234) 237)243)250)252)253)254)256)257)259)260)263)267)

Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 LkptTiger sent me six I didn't have, two of which were V8 moments. In one case, I had the right band, but didn't misspell their name properly -- that's cryptic.... -- and, in the second case, I kept thinking, "Man, I know I've seen that guy before."I also added the 10's to make it easier to count when editing.
