XXXX Glove Protection

Just wondering if anyone's having the same problem as me with these things. I've played five games with the Vapor XXXX Pro gloves and in at least three of them, my pinkies take some kind of hit and are swollen by the end of the game (more or so my left hand - I'm a lefty shot). Not necessarily a slash or anything, just some sort of impact. I've never had this problem with the Roll-4 gloves that I've used in the past. So I was just curious if I'm the only moron that walks away from a game with hurt pinkies...

If what others have been saying is true, your case isn't an isolated one. Apparently, the Vapor XXXX pro gloves really don't do a very good job of protecting your hand, which I kind of thought was the purpose of wearing gloves.

I can't say personally, but I was considering getting a pair myself because I really, really liked the fit. I could go for the regular XXXXs or any of the cheaper lower-end gloves, but I had my heart set on a pair of nylon gloves. Problem is, I'm not about to spend $140 bucks on a pair of gloves that don't protect my hands the way a $140 pair of gloves should. Guess I'll just have to hang on to my old Vapor XXXs and re-palm them when needs be.

It probably depends on what level of hockey you are playing. I got a pair of Vapor XXXX Pro gloves and couldn't be more happier with them. Haven't had any problems with protection issues yet... knock on wood. I tried all type of gloves on and these are the only ones that fit my hands like butter.

i've been reading the same on here...that the Vapor XXXX Pro glove is not very protective....HOWEVER, i have had a pair of regular XXXX's now for a while.....and the gloves are FANTASTIC....no problem AT ALL with protection....

funny this should be brought up today because after having played last night, and gotten HACKED about 12 times on each hand, i felt not one damn thing....:)

I don't hear him whining on MSH! JK :lol: This is about the only way to get Holik to be quiet anyway.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I have the XXXX gloves and have been lucky , I guess, no slashes that hurt.

One of the least protective gloves I have used. I still liked them a lot.

It's a performance glove - protection is going to be secondary. But like I said, the XXXX seems to be better in that department than the Pro.
