Didn't Lucic and Bradley have a good battle last season? Just answered my own question on Youtube.

Well, good battle for Lucic. Still, the B's brass doesn't want Lucic taking on all comers when it comes to the heavyweights of the league. They like his ability to open up space for Savard and Kessel. Should Brashear offer, I'll wager that Lucic just laughs him off and you'll see Thornton over the boards on a quick change up.

Nice rebound against the Thrashers last night. Should be fight night at the Garden tonight if the B's jump ahead early again.

After blowing them out last night and how chippy it got at the end, tonight should be a very physical game. That should work right into the B's strength.

Not much carryover. I liked Chara sticking up for Kessel. Can't wait to watch the B's paste the Leafs on Thursday.

Same here, hitting up this game at the Garden as well.

Fun times at Sunday's game...a nasty chick who obviously imbibed too much was sitting right behind me (17, 000 seats in the arena and I get this douchebag behind me, but whatevs) and I seriously thought she was going to hurl on my lucky B's cap. She actually did a complete belly flop on the vacated seat next to me between periods, and my buddy and I thought she was dead. But her loser BF just sat her up instead of taking her home and I feared I'd be splattered in nachos and Jim Beam. Normally I wouldn't be so hard on a chick but before she blacked out, she was saying how she has never gone to a sporting event EVER and also we all should go f--- ourselves.

It didn't surprise me when I heard her BF go, "Relax, just ten more minutes then we'll head back to Quincy."

(apologies to AnthonyJTa and other Q-townies, but for some reason that sentence was just perfect for the moment.)

Oooh, the Quincy Patriot Ledger. Is that still around??

It sure is, Jason... when my carrier is kind enough to actually leave it on my doorstep

NO apologies, man... the Quincy-ites actually humor me. I'm technically a Weymouth boy, stuck IN Quincy.

Did you see that the Detroit Free Press is hoping to stave losses by cutting back to only three days a week of home delivery? On the other days, people will have to pick up the paper at a news stand or visit the web, which they intend to beef up.

What's interesting is I sell an advertising program to auto dealers, who often tell me they are going to use The Big Three (radio, TV, newspaper). After reading about the Rocky Mountain News being put up for sale (and anticipated to fold after not finding any buyers), it wouldn't surprise me if The Big Three becomes The Big Two within a decade. Heck, after nearly forty years of spilling milk on the morning paper, even I'm starting to spill on my laptop instead.

But, back to the B's, the thing that encourages me is it looks like Tim Thomas won't be overworked this season, which has seemed to lead to his occasional dog game in the past.

Thomas and Fernandez are both goalies who have faded when asked to carry a huge workload in the past.

If you like goals then last night was the game for you.

Uuuuugh, hate to see Patrice go down like that again. I'm hoping he doesn't have a fragile noggin' from all the knocks.

who knows whats going to happen to him at this point. I feel awful that this happened, and really no party can be faulted other than Randy Jones. Bergeron is still pretty sensitive to it all apparently. I hope he gets well soon, but who knows given his history

Their defensive intensity has been waning the past three or four games, and it almost seems tied to the offensive outbursts, in that guys may be straying from the script as they smell goals.

Hopefully, this will turn out to be a blip by season's end, but I'd like to see the defense tightened up again.

You can't keep the reins tight all season long. I would expect them to tighten up a bit before the stretch drive.

And the train just keeps on a'rollin.....................I guess it is safe to get a little excited about the B's. It could be a real toss-up over which kid gets his first kick at the All Star can, Kessel or Krejci.

This team is reminding me of the 2007 Red Sox, when they got off to a blazing start with double digit leads in June, but nobody was ready to declare them favorites because it was so early in the season. Same thing with the B's. When they went 11-1-1 in November, well, that could have been a run of incredible good luck. But backing that up with a 12-1 December, while weathering injuries to Ference, Ward, Bergeron and Sturm, makes it obvious this team is legit.

They've shown great balance of offense and defense, although I have concerns about the goaltending in the playoffs, since I still think of the two of them as 1A's versus 1's.

The interesting question is if they get back Sturm and Bergeron, will either of those two be gun shy? I'm worried it might take Bergeron a long time to return to his pre-concussion skills, if ever, due to a nagging fear of re-injury -- especially after this latest hit.

I'm not worried about Sturm as much as I'm about Bergeron. I would surprised if Bergeron can even play again this year never mind be effective.

After having to endure many awful teams in the past it is great to see this team show up with a great effort night after night. It shows what a great job Julien has done. Especially with all the injuries they have had. When they hired him I didn't think he was a good choice, but I'm glad I was wrong.

It should be interesting to see what Chirelli does before the trading deadline. Does he try to add that one last piece to win a championship and risk disrupting the team chemistry. Or does he stand pat. It wouldn't surprise me if the tried to get Bouwmeester. If he could do it without disrupting the active roster I could see him do it. But I think Florida will be looking for a lot more than that.

I'm more concerned that Bergeron may have a Lindros jaw than what his game will be like when he returns. I would hate to see such a promising career ruined by concussion after concussion.

That said, I did notice that his game this season wasn't the same. He wasn't hitting the way he did before. It could have been due to the mystery upper body injury he was rumored to be nursing. We'll know when he comes back.

Sturm likely done for the year.

They've been playing fine without him, but I'd like his skills for the postseason.

He played great in the playoffs last year. He seems to be able to raise his game when it counts the most. I agree he will be missed in the playoffs.

They looked more like themselves today. hopefully they don't have to many more lulls like the last couple weeks.
