Help finding a curve

Recommended Posts

Basically, i brought a few cheap blades to keep me going till i find a supplier that will ship me sticks to the U.K.

Unfortunately, these blades are trash, and really arent lasting more than 5 hours ice time before loosing all their stiffness.

Anyway, since all the curves vary, i found one that i love, and thought someone on here might be able to tell me a retail/prostock pattern thats the same/similar.

View down the Hosel.

Gives an indication of blade shape and lie.

Thanks for any help.

Kind of looks like a P38 from Reebok (Datsyuk). Here it is retail in a lefty...

P38 is more of a mid, Sakic style I thought. P34 Pronger/Phaneuf I think is closer. Lidstrom is more to the heel and deeper IMO, and Phaneuf from RBK isn't a very good Lidstrom clone, though it may be close to what you're after.

The Shanny was billed as a toe curve but was more mid/toe. That looks like a heel/mid curve. The curve depth and square toe is what is probably reminding people of the Shanahan.

Isn't P34 a Modano? And I think the OP's picture is more of a mid curve than a Lidstrom-type heel curve. I know we're only looking at Easton and Reebok right now but it also looks kind of like a P30. I'll post the chart when I find it.

edit: Not sure how to resize Google Image search results but here is the link where I found my information...

Yeah i guess I meant P32. Phaneuf (P32) isn't right at the heel like Lidstrom, it's more mid/heel.

I think it might have more of a kink than the OP's blade though, I haven't looked at my 9k in months.

No curve number, its a £5 Rb 350, i cant even find the blade online.

I've got 4 blades and all of the curves are different, just the lie and square toe is the same.

The toe shape im not really to bothered about, its more the rest of the details im looking for.

That blade is about 10 years old, and the Shanahan before 01 was a mid curve not a toe curve

Thats probably why it was only £5! And why i can't find info on it anywhere!

The other few i have of this blade are less open and curved than a forsberg, so i dont think ill take whatever curve its supposed to be based on heh.

Passvilan is a good option if you've got the money. I emailed them about some blades to buy. The tapered composite blades were about $34 (sweet), but shipping started at $48 to the United States (not sweet). Kind of shot down my decision to buy some.

So it's the old, deep-mid, slightly open Shanny blade then? What's the lie on it?

If you like a big mid curve with a square toe, and a low lie (5.25), then there's nothing better than a SWD Coffey. The standard 950 blades are cheap and readily available.
