NorrisContender 4 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 FWIW - I did a fair amount of searching and found lots of helpful info but wasn't able to get all my questions answered.I found an old pair of Supreme Comps at a local PIAS that were near mint and fit me well. They are now my back-up's to my one90's (LS2P). Used the Comps in a game for the first time Monday night and broke a holder. My questions are:1. Is the Tuuk + the same holder as the Tuuk Custom +? Do they have the same hole pattern? Can I put my Tuuk + steel in Tuuk Custom + holders?2. I have two sets of steel for my one90's (LS2P). Should I consider putting LS2P on the comps? I will have to drill a new hole or 3 to convert to LS2P correct?3. What are my options without a competent LHS in town? I'm not against shipping the skates to have the work done but I'm not a big fan of buying holder(s) from a website then taking them to a shop for service. I'd rather get the holders from the LHS that does the work. I guess I could drive/ship to Columbus as The Hockey Stop is the only place I've run into I trust since moving to Ohio. I wish someone would let me use their press as I have plenty of experience riveting skates.
ID Rollerpop 4 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 JR, Chadd or one of the other shop guys probably would be the only ones with a full answer to question # 1 but My first impression would be that they are the same. As to question # 2 instead of mounting the LS2P on them I would think it just as smart to add the standard lightspeed 2 then if you want to match the LS2P longer runner you have that option with the 2.1 steel.FWIW if you are willing to ship your skates out to have the work done you might consider NoIcing Sports http://noicingsports.com/index.html, i have not tried them myself but remember reading some good reviews some time back. NorrisContender 4 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 Thanks for the advice guys.Do Pitch 3's use the same hole pattern as C+?I have 2 set's of LS2P steel and 1 set of C+ steel profiled to my liking. Since I don't want to dump a ton of money into my back-up's I'll probably go C+. If I could find a killer deal on LS2P's I like the idea of having the same size, shape, stiffness holder on both pairs of skates. On the other hand I don't like the idea of adding holes, and the translucent purpleness...
krwwc6 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 Pitch and C+ have same hole pattern, but the C+ holes need to be widened out a bit.You just can't beat pitch steel.
