New Flexlites

Recommended Posts

they look great on black, but other than that, no big differences from the old flexlite line. the vapor and the supreme lines bring something new with each evolution, these flexlites look the same but with a facelift, kinda like te SE vectors

I should be going to try them on this week and will let everyone know since I have the 12's and can compare. I also spoke to a rep and he said they decided to make the specs of the 4.0 equivalent to the 12's.

Does anyone know of any Chicago area shops that will carry these?

Fred's Pro Shop in Mundelien will have them. I have a buddy who just recieve his pair last week.. he didn't skate in them yet though because the next ice time we had was a tourny... But forsure Fred's Pro Shop

I drove up to Fred's today and tried on the 4.0's the new vapor 40's and SE16. I'm no expert, but the 4.0's seemed to have a really big arch that was bothering my foot. Also, I didn't see much of a difference in volume from the vapors. The vapor 40 arch seemed a lot lower and did not bother my right foot at all, but my left foot was bothered by both. The guy helping me out also tried on both skates and thought the flexlites had a higher arch and when I commented about flexlites having more volume, he said they were pretty snug.

He suggested I try the easton SE16's and they felt much better so I decided to go with them.

The flexlite 4.0 and vapor 40 were both 9. I didn't really notice a difference in width. I think they said I'm on the borderline for a D vs E width. For both skates on my left foot i felt the arch pushing on the inside of my foot. Couldn't tell if this was a problem with the arch or a width problem, but that's were I felt the pressure. I tried a 9 in the easton, way too small. They didn't have a 9.5 in the easton, so I went to 10, which was still pretty snug. I have really flat feet btw.

should've tried the s17/s12's, they have little to no arch and are plenty wide in the forefoot.
