Darien Hatchers Return?

Recommended Posts

i thought he was on the bubble last summer - i think i recall announcers saying he was trying to decide if he wanted to retire or not, and then once he decided he was going to play this year he has had non-stop health problems..

wouldn't surprise me if he called it quits - he has had almost as many health issues as foppa

He's not counted against the cap while he's on LTIR, he'll most likely sit out the season hoping to be able to make a prospective return during the playoffs, and if that fails he will most likely retire.

Best news I've gotten all week

Wow, why would ANYONE want Derian Hatcher back on thier team??

Man, wouldn't Buffalo love for Hatcher to come back. Perfect situation for Afinogenov to dance around him twice in one game, and get his confidence back. ;)

I don't see Hatcher fitting into the new faster paced NHL. He's too old and slow to be effective. In my mind, on most clubs Hatcher is a #6 D-man at best. A team like the Lightning may take a chance on his since he's a stay at home type.

Hatcher and Rathje are both still on the roster due to the LTIR, I believe. I don't think either of them will play in the NHL again. Hatcher could maybe go to the AHL or something if he recovers, and maybe the Flyers could call him up if they ever had an emergency need for a giant, old, slow defenseman.

I'm more interested in what they're going to do after Parent and Jones come back from injury. They're going to have to make some moves, and I don't think sending Sbisa down is going to be one of them. Kukkonen can probably go, so who's the other one...? Local reports are saying Columbus has its eye on Randy Jones and might try to acquire him and make it a non-issue.

He's a number two or three on the Tampa roster.

He had been a valuable PK'er post-lockout, but at even strength he was often exposed. He is also one of the Flyers' core leaders.

Are you telling me that you don't think Lukas Krajicek is very good?
