jersey sizing

i was looking at buying a jersey off of ebay and alot of them just say size 56 or 58 for size?

what kind of measurement is that?

i was hoping to find a sizing chart somewhere that explained it - but most websites just sell jerseys in weird sizes like "medium" and "large".

as far as shirts go i wear a large - but i want to make sure my elbow pads fit in the sleeves as well.

so i take it that 2x is the same as XXL and 3x is XXXL? nhl players dont wear jerseys that are that huge do they? so confusing..

Any Pro jerseys that I've seen (pre-EDGE ) are 54-58.

yep I always wore L OR XL and they were always huge so I bought one of those HNIC jerseys from Canadian Tire so I grabbed a Medium and the thing barely fits over my elbow pads, must be a slim fit

The number corresponds to the chest measurement. Take a current jersey and measure it pit to pit an double it. A jersey that is 24" across will be a 58. I believe the EDGE cuts refer to the stretched size, not too sure on those.

I wear XL shirts and normally wear a XL jersey. A 56 non-EDGE is HUGE on me, especially in the cuff and elbows.

With pads I'd wear*:

Swift 60

EDGE 58

Lutch 56

old style Pro NHL 54.

*None of these jerseys I actually wear with pads, size down without pads. Lutch, Swift and EDGE are tight in the elbows. I do prefer a tighter jersey so t-shirt size to jersey size may differ to personal preference.

exact same specs here so i guess thats a good guideline to go by sometimes w/ a regular cut jersey i go up to xxl but thats the only difference
