One95 vs. One90 OPS

Recommended Posts

Hey guys....i tried doing a search on this, but didn't find anything that jumped out in the threads.....i'm sure someone has made mention, but any help would be greatly appreciated...

i've read some really good things from people on the site, and would like to give the One95 OPS a shot at some point, however, i was NOT much of a fan of the One90 OPS....i believe that was because i might have bought the stick in the wrong flex, but i did wind up selling it after using it only a few times....i'm sorta reluctant as a result to fully committing to trying out the One95 when it comes time to buy a new stick...

so i was wondering if anyone who has/had used both sticks could sorta compare the 2 and mention what feels different between the 2.....

cheers!

The biggest differences that I noticed between the One95 and One90 was shaft shape and puck feel. The One95 shaft is much more concave than the squarish One90 and obviously the precision tactile is different from the full tactile wrap. Also, the One95 feels a touch whippier than the One90 but this is rather marginal when in use. In the feel department, the One95 seemed to provide much better feedback for the puck over the One90. It was much more responsive while the One90 felt a little dead to me.

I agree with Scurvy about the difference in shaft shape and feel. The blade on the One95 has a much softer feel than the One90 when stick handling.

good stuff.....

definitely an important feature to me, and 1 that i didn't think was that good on the One90

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead...

I have been using a Synergy Elite OPS and a One90 as my backup for the past year or so. My Synergy just broke and I have been trying to stick with the One90 but I just don't like it.

I am looking to buy a new stick, and I am torn between the SE16 and the One95. I know I will like how the SE16 performs, but I wasn't really happy with the durability of my SE. I am on a tight budget right now and can't afford to buy a new stick in a month or two.

If I were to go with a One95, would it be that much different than an SE or SE16? I've been reading a lot of great things about it and I know it is a lot more durable than the Synergys, I just worry because I don't really like my One90.

I love my One95. I think it has good feel in the blade, good energy release from the shaft and excellent durability. I haven't used the SE16 only because my One95 is still in solid condition after 15 games (30+ league).

I've never been a fan of Easton sticks (I felt they always torqued for me)...I've been a loyal NBH user for the last few years, except for now as I'm currently using a Dolo HD...I had the ONE95 and ONE90, and can honestly say the ONE95 blue the ONE90 out of the water. It was my favorite stick I've used...even above my Dolo I have now. I'm actually contemplating going out and getting another on Monday, or an X:60

I've been using easton for the last 10 years, from the days of the green Easton GRIP shaft, Zbubbles, Focus Flex blades, to the Synergy SE. When my SE broke last year I bought a new one online via eBay and picked up a One95 in the same pattern because it was a good deal. I really prefer the One95 to the SE at this point and I sold my SE recently to buy another One95. Easton's sticks are notorious for cracking and chipping and I haven't had this problem with my One95. Personally, any difference in kick point wasn't noticiable, but I had a better feel for the puck with my One95. I havd used some of the vapor NBH stuff and didn't like it, but the One95 really suprised me. The biggest difference was thhat the One95 is a bit more blade heavy, but I only noticed it when holding the two sticks off ice. In my experience, what I like about the SE I had in my One95, but some aspects were even better.

I have 2 One95's and I love them....great feel...balanced...and really solid durability. I'll buy again once these are done.

Tried one90, did not like. Synergy elite was nice but not as nice as se16 which I have now along with one95. Both very close in feel balance and shooting. Best two sticks I've owned. But the eastons have blade breaking issuse. One95 is way more durable in the blade.

How is the flex on the One95 compared the the One90? Is it significantly whippier than the One90, or are some people just saying that? I have a 77 flex One90 and cut it to about an 87. I like this flex, but should I go for an 87 with the One95? I am a 5'11 180lb guy playing mostly highly competitive roller hockey for the time being.
