Brand New Easton Shaft Broke!

Recommended Posts

Hockey Heaven in Vancouver - 129 for any pro return stick in store (they have thousands, literally), no warranty. 159 if you want a warranty. Great store, great idea, and literally every stick you can imagine.

I've only broken one shaft in the warranty, and that was an old TPS Armor Control that I got for $25 on clearance. I'd be willing to forgo the warranty for $20-40.

Seems like the only people who would even benefit from warranties are schools and teams who use the sticks every day. Do they even get warranties?

Well I've submitted the warranty claim to Easton and am awaiting further instructions. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. Forgot to mention that I did file it down quite a bit after I first attempted to get the plug in. I've had Eastons before and this is the first time a little heat has not made the material expand enough to get the plug in. I was very surprised. Just a shame because I thought $90 was a pretty good price.

x2 for that store, except isn't it actually called The Sports Exchange?? They have massive amounts of sticks, and when I was there they had a rack of RBK pro stocks for $75. They were the sticks that hadn't sold as well as the others, so I got a brand new 7V for about $60 USD at the time. Effin sweet deal, and I wish I could go back up there again.

send it into easton they wont even ask how it broke or where it broke from...they never ask me..and then just send it in and they will send you a new one back...

tell the person you are going to cut it in half too...save on shipping ;)

Schools that order through the MFGs (like NCAA teams) don't get the warranty.

Since shafts are suppose to take end plugs I would think Easton would warranty it no problem.

As a side note, one must be careful though when putting square end plugs in shafts or sticks with the contoured corners, square peg will not fit in round hole. You have to get a knife and whittle some wood off the corner of the end plugs, otherwise risk splitting shaft.
