Super Feet!?

Recommended Posts

First skate with my SF last night and all i have to say is sexy time!! Felt so much better. And I answered my own previous question too, MAKE SURE YOU MATCH UP YOUR ARCH NOT THE SIZE THAT DOESN"T MEAN ANYTHING BECAUSE YOU CUT IT OFF ANYWAYS!!!

Everyone's arch is in a different spot, some more forward, some more back.

Because of this size is less important. You do trim the flat, front portion of the insole so that it fits in your skate. The arch support itself is molded in place.

For example, I wear a size 8 skate, and and a 9.5- 10 shoe. The insole for that size, had it's arch too far back for me. I needed the next size up in order for arch of the insole to line up with the arch in my foot.

Hope that helps.

I will be getting mine in the mail later today, what do you mean match up the arch? i thought that sf were cut to fit?

The Heel and Arch have to be right.. when I was trying them out the first pair had the arch too far back towards my heel.. next size fitted my arch perfect. and like the other post.. you just trim the end off anyways so it doesnt matter if you cut off a half inch or 2 inches

I tried the Superfeet again and the pain returned so I'm stayng with the stock insoles. I had custom orthotics a few years ago and their arch was much farther forward than the Superfeet. So keep in mind that not everyone's footshape and biomechanics are compatible with the generic shape of Superfeet.

With the trim to fit Superfeet, you have to buy the size that lines up properly with your arch, and that is not necessarily the size that that you take in skates or shoes. For me, I need the next size up in order for the arch to line up.

Sounds like that may be the case for you too.

I did try the next size up on a recommendaton in an older post. Maybe I'd have to try 2 sizes up, but if I do that the heel might be too wide for my skate and the rigid support piece under it would definitely reach all the way under the ball of my foot which can't be good. And the Superfeet arch is a little higher than the arch of my foot. Like I said, Superfeet don't fit everyone's feet. Anyway, the stock insoles aren't causing me any pain, even after a few consecutive hours of skating, so it's not an issue for me.

I recently Bought a used pair of XXXX's that came with Super Feet, and was wondering if they will be fitted to the previous owners feet or will they be good for me to use? Ive only noticed a bit of arch pain in one foot while playing but figured it was just the transistion to different skates. Should i buy a new pair of SF or will these work for me?

Just ordered a pair of the Superfeet Yellow from an online place called Feetrelief. They had them for $31.xx plus free shipping, got them in less than a week. These look way better than my stock insoles (Vector 7's) can't wait to try them.

AWESOME and should always be required when you buy skates.

I use the grey and they do not mold to your feet so I would think you would not "need" to change them out.

But you might want to considering how gross other peoples foot sweat would be.

Or you can remove them - soak them in a cleaner/disinfectant of some sort.

Scrub them and let them dry.

I used the Yellow ones, and the first game I had them in, I got extremely tired very fast with each shift. It was really odd. The only thing I could think of was the SuperFeet? The following week, a kid came in the shop and complained that SuperFeet was affecting his skating, so we replaced them with some shock-doctors.

I think SuperFeet are a good idea, but are not going to work for everyone. It's a subjective product. For some, it will be good, for others it may not do anything, and for a few it might hurt your skating.

Just put SuperFeet in my new 2009 9Ks last week and feeling them out. They area bit of a dfferent feel, but starting to get used to them. I didn't notice any huge spectcular differences immediately or anything. But I think in the long run they will probably make my feet more comfortable once my skates get more broken in.

I was told by my ortho doctor to get Superfeet recently. I wear a 7.5 EE Easton S7 and when I went on various websites selling the insoles, it looks as if they only sell them in D width. Anyone else have wide feet and has superfeet in their skates? Any and all help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

I've tried the Graf Sidas in my Easton 1300's and even though their supposed to be as good as the Superfeet I didn't care too much for the on ice feel as compared with my Superfeet insoles. The heel section of the Superfeet are solid while the Sidas have a spongy centre which in my estimation must be for shock absorption and dissipation when skating hard. Anyway I noticed the difference as soon as I stepped onto the ice with the Sidas. It almost felt like I was stepping onto a very spongy thick carpet and didn't feel as stable in the heel area as with my superfeet even though the basic designs are the same. I'm putting this down to a personal preference issue because the Sidas are very well designed and are still miles better than most of the stock insoles provided by most skate manufacturers.

Maybe you're confusing the way Superfeet sizes its insoles with the way shoe width is traditionally sized. Supefeet size C doesn't refer to C width but rather refers to sizes 5.5-7, Size D means 7.5-9, Size E means 9.5-11, and so on. So if you need size 7.5, you take a D which is large enough to fill a size 9 skate but you trim it down to the size of your 7.5 skate. That's why they call them trim-to-fit. I can't guarantee that your skate size corresponds to the Superfeet size though. The best thing is to take your insole to a dealer to compare to the Superfeet and also see how a specific size fits your foot shape. To have the arch in the right place, you could even go a size larger if needed and trim off the excess.

Anyone know the difference between superfeet and shockdoctors? i've never really had problems with my feet or legs, but the insole that came with my CCM's are horrible. Should I even bother getting insoles if I'm not having problems? If yes, how do I know if Shockdoctors or Superfeet would be better for me?

can't really tell you the difference between the two, but I like the Superfeet a lot. I have pretty flat feet, but never really had any issues with stock insoles or foot pain. After reading about them here and about how your feet can supinate (which I could sort of feel was happening) I ordered the Superfeet. All I can say is they are great. Makes me feel like I have a lot more control and force behind my strides. Your feet just feel a bit more locked in if that makes any sense. Like people have said they aren't for everyone, but I would def. give them a shot.

i tried my new superfeet today. took out the old cruddy shockdocters. not much difference. felt fine. i have a pretty decent arch so i was curious how it would feel. i'd say almost no difference for my feet. i didnt feel that my heel raised up much either which is good because i have sensitive tops and i wear a shallow graf 704.

i'd say it really depends on your feet. shock doctors are cheaper right?
