Eagle Gloves

Recommended Posts

The X72 will be a wider fit, looser on the wrists, palm and fingers. The PPF is a narrower glove, tapered fingers, smaller wrist opening. If you get the X72 with one piece fingers that can work with or against you depending on how you want your glove to fit.

I'd say they're about the same for length.

I have X72 but i needed to put in the extra padding in the kangaroo pouch, because they were a little too loose for my hands.

But with the extra padding, they fit perfectly.

With the PPF, would i have the same issue?

What?

Is that what that pouch is for?

I had no idea. I thought it was just some sort of sweat soaker-upper thingie. Or comfort layer. :o

Yes. B)

And if you email Eagle, they send you the extra padding for free.

I'll grab my set of X72s and PPFs later today and take comparison shots.

Cool, thanks.

I'm just curious how much more narrow the PPF are.

Not that i'm looking to gett hem any time soon, im VERY happy with my X72. Best gloves i've ever used.

What about PPF+?

PPFi is smaller than PPF is smaller than PPF+.

The difference is finger/cuff length.

Aye, essentially The PPFi is a 13 the PPF+ is a 15 in the most simplistic sense

I don't think the fit difference in the two is all that big, but yeah, you'll notice it. Not sure which of the two I prefer at the moment.

Here ya go.

http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y279/rust...PPF%20vs%20X72/ (7 pics total)

I tried taking multiple angles, and to show what the gusset difference is like. Note these are older X72 with solid fingers and no plastic inserts at all.

You'd better be putting those PPFs to good use, Rustpot ;)

Hope you're happy with them.

I actually haven't skated with them :( . I do love them though.

Went to a pond for some lunchtime hockey, some dolt flooded the hothouse so we were just shooting around for half an hour in our shoes, ended up taking a puck off the toe and ripping the nail to hell and back/bruising it up pretty good.

Then I've been in and out of the hospital for the last 2 weeks. Shoveling my driveway is enough exertion to give me insane nausea.

Thx for the nice pics. What material is the grey glove is it as light as the tufftek?

I think they're mustang leather. Whatever animal they are, they're full natural leather with a suede-like finish. They're a bit heavier than the full tufftek, but not so much that I care.

I kept writing X72 this whole thread, they're X70s. I think the only difference is split fingers, the X72 being the modernized X70. I feel stupid <_<

So, based on the Eagle Catalogue, if I want a size 15 glove I'm getting a PPF+ glove (comes in 14.5)? So PPF, PPF+, and PPFi are just the names of the sizes, and they're exactly the same glove, except for obviously the size?

I believe that is the case yes. I'd wait a few more hours for someone else to either come confirm or disprove that though, just to be sure.

PPF+ is 1/4" bigger in the fingers and a 1/2" in the cuff over PPF.
