#44wannabe 4 Report post Posted February 7, 2009 Hey guys and girls,Im looking for a powerskating camp, 1 or 2 weeks long, to attend in the summer. The biggest failing of my current game is my poor (maybe shocking) skating and i would love to improve this.I dont mind the camp having very little puck work, i just want A LOT of skating and good instructing.Any suggestions? interpathway 9 Report post Posted February 7, 2009 Not sure where you're located, but try and see if Laura Stamm is hosting any clinics near you.

HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted February 9, 2009 There's got to be tons in Canada, especially around the summer time. If you don't mind traveling there, that's probably your best bet. This one in Vancouver has trained some NHL guys. They don't have any info on their summer camps up yet though.http://www.explosiveskating.ca/Laura Stamm is doing some in Canada in the summer, but they're only like 3-5 days long. Check out the map to see where she'll be at.http://www.power-skating.net/Power-Skating-Canada.aspxThe thing I'm not positive about is how many places do 1-2 week long clinics like what you are looking for. Hockeyman11385 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2009 I think it might be difficult to find a 1-2 week residential camp solely focused on power skating. Most people aren't driven (or sadistic) enough to want to do power skating 4-6 hours a day for 1-2 weeks. Most residential camps incorporate power skating into the instruction of the entire game. However, I highly recommend Laura Stamm. Their instructors are great and they really know their stuff. I help coach a high school team and I recommend that all of the kids do the camp during the spring (when they happen to be in northern Vermont). The ones that are willing to put in the effort really get results that show the following fall at training camp.
