Where would you find a boot with no holder or chassis?

Recommended Posts

If all you need is a stock skate, with no blade, just tell your Graf dealer that's what you need. They can arrange it with us.

We were told "no" when we asked.

does it cost more money to do this?

Should cost the same as a boot with the holder. So technically, yes it is more (factoring in the new holder you will buy and mount).

I guess I wasn't running the Pro Department when you asked. It would go through as a "custom", since the stock skates have holders installed. There would be an upcharge for building a "one-off" skate.

With no credit for ommitting the holder??

Sounds like a better/cheaper idea just to buy a stock skate and have the holder changed out.

It would be cheaper to just unbolt your holders, and drill new holes for the inline chassis, but some people are particular about how many holes are in the bottom of their boot. So if you don't mind spending a little extra to have a "virgin" outsole, we will accomodate you.

Especially with the properties of carbon soles, too many holes can do serious damage. Especially considering that your new holder might require you to drill a hole where half a hole is already overlapping (if that makes sense at all).

GrafPro, is this true?

Everyone has different tolerances for precision. I can't speak for each individual skate tech.

If 1=outsole with 30 overlapping, slotted holes in it and 10=virgin insole and outsole, it's up to you where to draw the line.

It also depends if you are using RMS or Rivets.

My question is, what for?

I mean, how hard is it to have a holder removed?

Installing a different holder

Shifting alignment

Installing an inline chassis

Yah, but if you have to take it in do this, is it that much hassle to purchase the skate with the holder, then re sell the holder once you remove it? To me it seems like more hassle to find a boot without a holder.
