I just called cyclone taylor to get a price on the 8090's and he told me in store they were 449 CAD, and if you ordered off the web then it's 399 CAD. I figured he made some sort of mistake because I had no idea they would be so cheap. Can anyone confirm or shoot down this price he gave? Thanks.

So I guess he wasn't lying...399 CAD, that is cheap relative to what I thought they would be. If they're a better skate than the XXs, and from what I've heard they are, why are the 200 bucks cheaper?

$200? no no, not that much, most places sell the XXs for $400 USD. Yes, imo the 8090 is a better skate, it has a different fit though. It is more durable, better liner, outsole i believe, and is a tad lighter. ALSO it doesnt come with that perfed steel that just about everyone hates. Honestly, I dont know why they'd be that much cheaper. I think just because Bauer had said Vapors were so good, they didnt want to change that. not sure.

If you look closer you will see that he was referring to Canadian Dollars.

$400 USD is approximately $550 CAD.

Since I have a lame LHS that doesn't even have the 8090s, would I need a 14 in them if I take a 14 in Nike?

In a V-12? i would say no, because i wear a 9 CCM, 9.5 Easton/Bauer/Graf, and the V-12's ive got are 8.5's and they fit like a glove

I think you're just a freak.

V12s fit the same as most Bauers nowadays, however, the 8090s generally are fitting 1/2 size smaller. I wear an 11EE Bauer and my 8090s are 10.5 Ds...

Damn, I think Cyclone's biggest size is a 12.5 so I may be SOL for that deal. I wonder if I can Coffey my feet in there though.

Coffey was wearing what size of skates? I'm 6-2 and I have 8.5 skates.

Damn, I'm really hating my crappy LHS now since I can't even gauge the new Bauer sizing. I just want to see how small I can go since I've always gone snug in skate sizes.

No I'm a bit on the narrow side but can do regular widths. I'm thinking I'll go thru with these as soon as possible to get them broken in.
