Lindros to Sakic?

Recommended Posts

I love the Lindros curve, but I have a chance to get my hands on a few one95 Sakic's for the price of....

On the House...

Shouldn't be much different right?

Sakic is much more open than the lindros, which is neutral. I think that is probably the only difference I noticed, but in your situation, you can't beat that price!

Obviously give them a shot! I found there is less curve and it's way more open, and my shot had a lot more zip but less accuracy. Just me though.

Naslund/Sakic/Draper curves are almost identical in terms of curve depth when compared to Lindros. When viewed from above (as when holding the stick) it looks like less curve because of the twist in the mid -> toe that causes the top edge of the blade to be somewhat more straight. If you flip the stick upside down and look at the curve of the bottom edge of the blade, you will see that there is significant curve depth and it's borderline indistinguishable from Lindros.

So, the adjustment between these patterns is relatively small as they also share the a similar lie. The only real difference is the open-ness of the blade.

I prefer the sakic, for two reasons. First the openess of the blade allows for faster and easier saucer passes.

and two, close in on the net you can snap it upstairs with authority because its high loft. but then again personal preference.

Sakic/P92 will have a lot more rocker to it as well. I wouldn't be surprised to hear you say you're having the puck pop under the heel during the transition period.

For what it's worth, I can use the Sakic style decently well with the Drury as my main go-to, and the Lindros was, for some reason, terrible for me. I can see the face making my shots lower, but I couldn't work it across the blade or get a good spin, and for that I blame the rocker on the Drury and Sakic style blades.

Lindros blades have a pretty healthy rocker too.

Then I must either be drunk or my memory is gone. Comparing between the two it looks like the P88 is more gentle through the center with decent heel - the P92 is rounded more and will play to further extremes.

I just know going Sakic/P92 to P88 was terrible and I sold the stick instead of trying to adjust my shot to fit the curve.

That's much more mild than it used to be but still more than a modano. It's funny how much that curve has changed over the years. It used to be a nice, mild modano-ish blade. Then it turned into a massive hook. Now, that one looks fairly mild again.

Can't hurt to try it out, especially where it's not costing you anything.

Heck, I'm sure you'd have a few potential buyers if you don't like it... including me, if you're a lefty

I have both and it's not a huge adjustment but the Sakic does get the puck up quicker, and since the Sakic has less rocker the Lindros seems to me to play like a lower lie. Less pucks go under my Lindros. Just my 2 cents
