World Juniors

Recommended Posts

I figured I'd just start a new thread for this tournament instead of resurrecting last season's. It's just about time for the World Junior Tournament. It is being hosted by Fargo/Moorhead.

For any of you in the Twin Cities who would like to watch some pre-lim games, the teams are in a pre-camp now with 6 teams at Ridder and 4 at the Super Rink. There are games Sat, Sun, Mon, and Tues night at both locations. It is $7 for adults and $5 for kids. The schedule is up on USA Hockey. It is worth checking out!

I believe the tournament you're talking about is refered to as the World Under 18's. The tournament commonly called the World Juniors is the World Under 20's and played in late December/early January.

I was at the Norway vs Sweden game last night, showed up about half an hour before the game and the ticket booth wasnt even open so I just walked in. The game was great except Ritter is ridiculously tiny ice and I think it affected both team's gameplan especially on the power play but it was a fun game, there was like....12? people there. I was kicking myself so hard for not bringing my camera, which I'll do today for sure. Hope that Swedish guy who got a concussion is good to play when it kicks off in Fargo though...

Ridder's ice is a standard NHL sheet.

compared to what they're probably used to I mean. Standard NHL felt crushingly small after I played a summer league on an Olympic sheet.
