Drury and Ovechkin blade curve...

Recommended Posts

Isnt the new spezza meant to be a drury clone, or did i just completely make that up?

Thats what i thought too.

I use SWD spezza. It's a bit more neutral than Drury IMHO. But I also use 950 tapered woodies, so it might be different on the composite blades.

IS there a Drury curve clone that has a NEUTRAL face angle? Does such a curve exsist?

Thanks, D

I am pretty sure that a blade is not a clone of another blade if it has a different face angle (which subsequently would make it completely different). So the answer is no, there is no Drury clone with a neutral face because if it has a neutral face it wouldn't be a clone. By definition the Drury curve is a heel curve with an open face that begins to open very shortly after moving away from the heel towards the toe. It sounds like you are talking about something like a Forsberg pattern (heel curve neutral face) but with a bigger curve (say, 1/2" vs 3/8"). I am not personally aware of any retail patterns like that but perhaps somebody else might be aware of something.

Yes, the Drury blade pattern is very distinctive.

I was simply asking if you took the open face angle on a Drury blade and made it a NEUTRAL FACE ANGLE, whether there is a retail curve like this that exists. Dont touch anything but changing the open angle face to NEUTRAL FACE. Leave the rest of the blade alone.

^^ what he said (last post 1st page). But remember there are slight variations between one make to another; for instance, my Bauer P91A seems more open (and longer) than my Mission Sundin, both of which are supposed "Drury clones". I wouldn't say either of them are close to being neutral though.
