It's not important to game play, but I thought it would be fun if you after you scored you could press different buttons to do various celebrations. Or if when you create your BAP player you could select a celebration for him to do after he scores.

Amen. We are lucky enough to witness two truly great players in one generation (Ovechkin and Crosby) , yet people have to bash one or the other to no limit. What does that acomplish? Anyone with any brains would realize that they are both great players at both ends of the ice, play with heart and love the game, both are leaders in and out of the dressing room at a young age and are alike in a lot of ways, one the passer and one the shooter but both share a passion for the game thats unparalleled. So the question is , why so much hate? I like both. More leaned towards Crosby because he grew up in the same area as I did but i still like Ovechkin quite a bit.

On a sidenote, I really dont like the looks of that after whistle scrum. I can see this being taken to the extreme online however hopefully the computers dont go looking for it after every whistle. I play hockey video games to cycle the puck, do some nice dekes and throw hits, not to fight.

I would just like to point out I wasn't bashing him, just surprised at what happened. Kind of a cool tidbit they added, maybe if you do something like trip over the goalie and go into the net or the boards you can get injured too.

Leafsrule16, the scrum looked a little iffy to me too - it pretty much looked as ridiculous as the current after whistle play looks, but with glove washes added in. Kind of cool to see the defenseman rush down and defend his teammate though.

Exactly what I was thinking. You either activate a celebration quickly or else you get the standard fist pump. I dont know, I think it could be kinda fun.

It could especially get dirty with online play. Nothing like showing your opponent up by doing a crazy celebration after a goal...could get heated.

I dont think it will be as bad as I said. If someones playing dirty, I guess you can take it out with them after the whistle but I plan on playing as disciplined as I can, online discipline is a big thing, if you can cycle the puck for a minute or two on the power play chances are your going to score so its just another opportunity for some hot headed gamer living the dream through a game to mess up.

Well, EA Tiburon is right next to my rink. They have two employee teams at our rink.

But yeah, it's pretty cool, you go to the offices, and you sign a NDA and do a pre-play survey, play the game, then do a post-play survey and you get a free released game.

Hopefully they add online capabilities for be a gm mode for next year.

But doesn't Madden's dev team dwarf the NHL dev team? I am making that assumption just by how much more $$ Madden must pull in.

In fact, I'd venture that EA Canada does more with less. Although I've seen some progress it's not like Madden has been doing a lot to their game every year. They're still catching up some parts of the game with 2K5.

I gotta be honest, the demo vid looked exactly like 09 which is pretty disapointing. Also I wish that they would add some legt logos to the team creator and some team names that correspond to the logos. With EA having the NFL license, would it be possible for them to put in the NFL logos?

I actually think Madden '09 was way overdone. I hated it, took it back after 1 day. I like the simplicity of NHL '09 and I really hope they don't trick it up too much like Madden. Improvements would be great, bug fixes, glitch goal fixes and such, but leave the bells and whistles alone. Holograms of Madden and training "mini-games" that look like the movie "tron" where the players glow neon colors on a black glass looking field, god I hope EA's NHL never becomes that...

It would be great but an unbelievable nightmare to acquire the license for the likeness rights to all of the individual players, teams, etc...I'd rather them put out a separate release or "special" addition that includes those teams or a junior hockey edition (never gonna happen). My other wish is for a "classic" edition that has legendary teams and arenas.
