Shorthanded67 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 Has anyone had the "opportunity" to use those Black Beauty shafts/blades which is a company created by Al Iafrate? A teammate made a computer maintenance housecall to Paul Cavallini (former Blues player) and Cavallini hooked him up with a couple of the OPS. Decently lightweight stick but durabilty wasn't there at all. Most snapped within a game or two from someone who never breaks sticks. The website is www.bbsticks.com. I noticed that there are no OPS on there but I believe it was a prototype and it was almost a year ago. Looking for any info/experiences with this. They are based in the Detroit area I believe. hehatemefrisbee 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 They arent created by Iafrate. He is just a PR guy. The owner/creator is the manager of the rink that I work at. The new carbon blades are nice, but the wood ones are shit. Their shafts are decent, but seem to break too easily for my liking. If you want any more info on them just let me know. Shorthanded67 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004  I originally posted my thread in that topic until I found the website and realized that Black Beauty is still alive and kicking. Well, alive anyway....... So I deleted the post and made a new topic to avoid any off-topic banter.hehatemefrisbee: Any info on the OPS? The graphics were basically the same as the shaft. Just sounds like durability is a problem. And the skullet-man endorses them !?!

Chadd 916 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 I may pick up a couple of the low lie blades to see what lie works best for me. I'm guessing 4.5 or 4.

Judging by the graphite blade they have, i would imagine its a decent stick. I tried the blades out, and it takes a little while to get used to them, but once you do, they are pretty cool. Having a completely flat blade is something im not used to, so it took me a little while. As far as I have seen durability has been an issue with people that play a very aggressive game. If you arent out there hacking away at people you should be ok.

If it's the same OPS from Black Beauty, they've been out for a few weeks... the Crank's Catering teams (based out of Troy) all have them. They have flame graphics on them. Can't say much about the quality, I was only able to get my hands on a junior stick. Didn't look bad, but didn't look like anything special, either... Modo9 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 I like how on the "Secure Blade" section of the website they spell tenon, tennon and tannon. Very professional...
