I've never seen this kids videos but after watching a few all I can do is shake my head. Positive though, when I bring up to the wife a new stick/piece of equipment she'll ask "do you really need another....?" Now I can tell her it could be worse and direct her to this if needed. :P

I can't hate on him, i wish my parents could even afford to get me playing hockey when i was his age though. Jealousy and talking shit about a 13 year old doesn't really say much good about you, imo.

Spoiled shit. I'd like to see videos of him playing though.

Okay, seriously. Has anyone else been drove insane by this kid's videos? He has about 15 pairs of skates, 100 sticks and numerous other equipment. Everyone on youtube makes fun of him and laughs at him, mocks him and yet this :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAvlbzMDu3Y Wow. What is wrong with this kids parents?

My favorite part of that video is at 3.20 when he gives a "how to put on your elbow pads" tutorial.

So he just buys the gear and reviews it? Why in the hell does he need to buy 4 harrow shafts?

Im not jealous, I just think its kinda hard to picture anyone's parents buying them that much stuff. Hes lucky if anything, but i think owning all that shit doesnt make him an expert. Im a pretty big gear whore (well .. not compared to vsnipes anyways) and i cant imagine making videos like that and what not, the kid has a lot of time on his hands. I think i would have done the same thing if i were his age and had that stuff, its still annyoing to see these videos of him like 'oh yeah this is my warrior stick .. its .. nice .. ' . Then again i suppose hes only like 12-13.\

Also to poster above, pretty much. He shows off his gear, has contests and what not. Nice quote, i was just about to add it too .. :(

Uh huh. Encountered some of these types going to prep school, can't play worth crap but they're still all decked out in the latest and greatest Mommy and Daddy's money can buy. But then again there's something sweet in being blue-collar and kicking the crap out of kids like this.

Hahaha good idea man..

I don't understand getting new pads all the time. I like having them broken in real well, I've been in my Jofa shin guards for 3 years now, and my elbow pads for 5.

Btw, how much does a custom harrow cost out of curiosity?

The only things that bug me are that his parents over-indulge him, which just can't be healthy at all. The average kid already is going to struggle with being materialistic, but this is way over the top. The other thing that bugs me is that he's pretty conspicuous in showing off the stuff, which again, just doesn't seem healthy and obviously doesn't endear anyone to him.

Looking through a few more of his videos:

Stick collection one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_HDHe4NSKI...feature=related

Stick collection two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1oCvqZa-Eg...feature=related

He has about 15 sticks in total. Didn't understand how spoiled he was 'til i listened to some of the stuff he was saying.

"This stick is a Forsberg 100 flex. I don't know why I got this stick, just for the heck of it I guess"

I think there is some jealousy here...he just shows off his gear stash on youtube instead of MSH.

By the way, this kid plays AAA and could probably skate circles around most of you trash talkers. (Or will be able to in a few years)

Shafts are either $90 or $100, OPS is either $140 or $150

Is this kid spoiled as hell? Hell Yes. However, he's a kid. You don't know him and you don't know his parents. If his parents are wealthy enough to endulge their kid, why not. Who knows maybe this kid gets stellar grades and all this hockey equipment is a way to keep his grades up.

My best friend has a brother whos also 14. He gets all these video games and anything else he can imagine. His divorced parents feel so bad for breaking up the family, he milks them for all their worth and I joke with him and he goes "don't hate the playa, hate the game". But hey, overall he's a nice kid and does his chores and just got into Stuyvesant high school. (it's a prestigious high school that I and his brother graduated, it's a big thing in NYC)

That is a good point you bring up. IMO, I think the kid gets a lot. Hell, I've always wanted an S17 but the only thing I will pay lots for is skates. I have One90's, and I got them in January '07 and plan to use them until it gets to the point where my foot just plain wont fit or they are just thrashed. But I agree in the point that I don't know him or his parents. The kid does seem to be a good kid and I won't hold that against him no matter how much he gets. I think his videos are really cheesy and pretty lame but afterall he is only 14 and in a way they are kind of cool in an odd way. Good for him that he has all this stuff, and if he wants to show if off then good for him.

Equipment doesn't matter, it's the love of the game. I hope one day to just be good enough to the point where I don't have to worry about buying my stuff

By the way, this kid plays AAA and could probably skate circles around most of you trash talkers. (Or will be able to in a few years)

Good for him, I wish him the best. But there are lots of good players on this board who can care less who somebody plays for

Yea, well I pointed it out because there are people in this thread who obviously do care, insinuating that the kid has a lot of fancy gear but can't play hockey. Not true.

Anyway, yea, he's a young, probably somewhat spoiled kid, who is enthusiastic about hockey. Is that such a bad thing? If his youtube videos get other 14 year olds out there interested in hockey, then I think he's doing a service for the sport.

I agree with you, that's the part I like about his vids. Especially the one of him opening the X60's. Cheesey as it is, you can almost feel his excitement
