Weird reaction to new Undergarmet.

Recommended Posts

JP510SR_2.jpg

Got the Itech 1 piece in on Friday wore it that night and had a weird rash like reaction on my shins. It dissappeared after a few hrs. Wore it again last night to an 1.5 hr session and it was fine. Has anyone had any similar reactions like this and then it went away?

Also one of the velcro tabs has come loose already (poor stiching), should I just sew it back on with the machine or make a warranty request (if available).

I think the rash is a resulted from not washing the garment before sweating in it. I personally would stitch the velcro back on myself.

Ditto. I have the same one and made sure to wash it before first using it. Should've seen the dye that washed out of it, lol. I don't know about anyone else but I always wash new clothing of any kind before wearing it.

It's due for a wash now anyways, after two uses it now smells like cats.

Thanks for the warning T.O, I'll be sure to keep my white business shirts seperate.

It's weird to have all of this happen. When I 1st bought my JOC pants and Skins top this never happend.

I hit new stuff with Woolite on gentle cycle and then hang to dry. Same thing I do with the suit like yours, socks, jersey, and skull cap after each game. Hit the gloves, skates, insoles, and all pads with Febreze and a fan. Helmet goes under the shower head and then towel-dry it inside/out before sitting by the fan. Some of the guys that show for the drop-in can make you drop when they open their hockey bags up, lol. My God... try a frigging washing machine and air out the equipment too, wow. It's enough to make you puke.

Never needed to wash my gear really. Most of the time airing it out in the Garage or near the heater vent is enough. Sometimes I wash my shin guards, but thats as they are 10+ years old and sometimes grow a tinea like fungus in them.

I have smelt the fermented stench of hockey gear never aired from a guy who drinks and smokes. When that stuff mixes and is never aired, the smell puts Saddam's mustard gas to shame! ;)

The only problem I had was with the old Bauer stuff. After about six months I would get a rash every time I wore the shirts, and I washed them after each use.

The neck guard was too tight, so I have been yanking it allot on the bench to loosen it up (no puns intended). The rest feels fine however, I will say that the "fly" isn't designed all that well, it doesn't cordon off the "zones" the way it says it does.

General mobility is fine. It is however noticably warmer then my skins, which I don't like...
