Its a scam. I went on the website and my phishing thing popped up, i thought something was up, then something started to download on my computer but was blocked by my norton saying it was a virus. Whatever you do, do not listen to this and do not give them your paypal information, just thought i'd pass it out since it must be spread to quite a few people if i got it , i dont even have a paypal! I just went on the site to see if maybe my parents had signed up for one on my computer or something.

Thanks for posting this man, I use paypal now and then on ebay. What's odd is the .ru part. It's a site registered in Russia, and every paypal transaction I've made has never had this. Pretty much anything you get emailed with an IP address you never see is most likely a virus from a different country. Also the US State Department has a nice article saying how they've had problems with Russian scammers online, so this doesnt surprise me

If you wonder if there's something going on, log into paypal normally and if there's an issue, it will say it on the home page.

That's the safest thing to do. I never click links related to any financial or sensitive material.

paypal, hotmail and the likes will never ask for your password in an email request, Be careful, someone's trying scam your accounts. We had a friend fall for it. My wife gets an email from her friend's email account saying that he had flown to England and was robbed, now he needs someone to send him money to get home, funny thing was she had just talked to him 5 minutes before. The person high jacked his email account and sent out a mass mailing. It cost our friend alot of money because he had to redo his website where he does alot of business from.

Ok, the terrible grammar and poor English would be the first clue not to click on it.

Never follow the links from these kind of emails. The links often put spyware on your pc so even if you don't enter your personal information into their bogus site, they can get your info the next time you go through the legitimate site. Like someone said before, anytime you get one of these emails, use the official sites to check if the claims in the email are correct.
