Dealing with moron team mates

Guys, guys we are all looking too much into this. Me and Leafsrule are both teenagers keep in mind. So we went on the JB video and I guess "trolled" it before. We didn't do it to just go in and be assholes. We did it for a laugh, because people get so fired up about a couple of wise cracks over thier favorite band. It's no different than telling a Pens fan that Crosby is a bad hockey player. It is not true, but the fan will go crazy if you say that. It is more out of a joke than anything.

Doing it for a laugh is exactly what makes you the assholes in this scenario.

Even so, who cares?

And that sentiment cements it.

I mean here at MSH. Why do people care if kids like me and Leafs "troll" the JB videos?

We're just giving our opinion on people who do so and then brag about how much fun they had doing it. If you didn't want our opinion then you shouldn't have said anything.

Let me get this straight. Kovy...it appears you are taking too seriously what someone on the internet (Chippa13) is saying about you saying how some (posters on MSH) are taking too seriously what you are saying about how some (Jonas Brothers forum) are taking what you say on the internet too seriously?

Hmmmmm. I think I sprained my brain typing that.

Not taking to seriously, asking why people (MSH) care that I trolled the JB forum. He answered that he was just giving his opinion, nothing wrong with that he has a right to state his opinion

I know how much work are forced to do because of trolls and people that cross the line, so I am obviously going to have a negative opinion of people that create more work for others in a position similar to mine. Every time someone decides to be a jackass and blow up a topic for fun, it can take hours to clean up the mess that someone created in less than a minute. But as long as you're amused, to hell with everyone else.

I agree Kovy. By posting a mere 'listen to some real music' comment, i have 5+ jonas brothers fans taking it personal and going out of there way to insult me from everything from my sexuality to my choice of music.

Oh gotcha.

Actions have consequences. It's kinda a law of the universe.

You mean something similar to the most famous picture from Vietnam, a naked little girl running down the street with severe burns? Something along those lines.

No. I wasnt talking about anything or anyone in particular. All art, and the criticism levied against it are subjective. I was only pointing out the example he used to support his position could very easily be used against it.

In fact, your example illustrates it perfectly. One could praise the picture of a naked and napalm burned child as good, as it brought awareness to an issue, and captured an intense moment in time and history. Yet another very valid criticism is that it was a child in a moment of pain and horror, being used to further a political agenda.

I am by no means saying I subscribe to either of those viewpoints. Only that Art is not always good and criticism is not always bad. In fact, those terms, good and bad, really shouldnt be used unless describing your own subjective opinion.

Again, I am not commenting directly on the troll/jonas brothers thing....just about the generalization.

I really dont want this all to come across as confrontational or antagonistic. Just adding my views to the conversation.

I feel like we're having two different conversations here. I understand the points you're trying to bring up, but that is clearly on a level we're not focusing on here. We're talking about trolling pop music fan sites, youtube videos and other creative expressions socially. Nothing hanging in an art gallery or shot by someone working for a newspaper. Arguing the merit of established projects targeted at adults to be thought provoking is one thing. To (for nor reason other than personal entertainment) discourage and downright deride (most likely) adolescents from expressing themselves, finding creative endeavors they enjoy and becoming a secure confident socially well adjusted person is reprehensible.

The kid who gets called a homo for wanting to try out for the school musical grows up to be the angry middle manager who hates the theater and doesn't let you have friday afternoon off when you requested time off 3 weeks in advance. This is what you're doing Leafs.

But it's ok Leafs, we know you're just taking your anger out on others, you just wanted to take that ballet class, but you're afraid because someone called you a queer all those years ago; you don't have to be the fuck-everyone-else macho guy. Dance my little turtledove, dance.

Oh geez...surely you jest a bit, right? You move right from a huge slippery slope argument to an ad hominem in an attempt to deride this guy for deriding others. Step back a bit before you speak.

Some comments on youtube are not going to be the life-changing event that turns a kid interested in musicals into an asshole boss. I guess you're going with the environment over hereditary idea...in which case, it seems you're going to turn leafs into the same type of middle manager jerk you want to protect us all from.

Anyway, yea I agree that trolling youtube or other boards for fun is pretty lame, but come on, it's not going to ruin some kid's life, and the whole topic is not really worth discussing in a thread about hockey teammates...

What anger? Dude leave Leafs alone I think you should be the one dancing my little turtledove. Your taking this all personally it seems? Did some kid call you a fag for wanting to try out for the school musical? Because it sure seems that way.

And usahockey22, good post man
