Anyone with flat feet?

Recommended Posts

I've been having a real bad problem with my feet. I have super flat feet and as of late my left foot just throbs after a game, my right skate always feels great, but my left foot, I put a lot of pressure on the inside edge, it's hard to keep that skate balanced for a lack of a better term. Anyone have any suggestions for flat feet?

Custom podiatrist-made orthodontics. It would be expensive, unless your insurance covers it, but it would give you support and last for years. They would have to be made to fit your skates.

I have flat feet and I have had orthodontics since high school (I'm 30 now) for my shoes. Really I should get some new ones myself.

I would recommend orthodics as well. I have severely flat feet and i use blue superfeet in all my skates and shoes. Customs are also another way to go, but they will cost much more unless your insurance covers them. So try out some superfeet or something because they cost only $20 or so and if that doesnt work, look more into custom orthodics.

I have a pair of NIke Quest 1s that are a size 9EE. Very wide for my flat flipper like feet. Never had an issue with my feet hurting except for the break in time.

My new skates RBK 9k 9E it's a little bit narrower than I would like but I baked the hell out of them and my feet are fine in them. I say try a wider skate and see how that goes for you.

I wear orthotics that provide arch support because my feet are flat. I began using them about three months ago, and the pain has been slowly going away. I used to have pretty bad ankle, knee, and heel pain from pronating.

I only spent $20 dollars on mine from my podiatrists office, and they work great. I'm sure I could have shopped around and gotten them cheaper. They also fit in my Reebok 5k's with yellow Superfeet (D width) perfectly. Custom orthotics are not always needed.

I have the exact same problem. I have what the guy at the pro shop called "duck feet". Fairly normal/average heels but an awkwardly wide forefoot with short toes, i also have flat feet and large ankle bones on the outside and insides of each of my ankle. My calf muscles are also pretty large so ive had a bit of trouble with skates in the past. I wear 9k pumps with superfeet insoles, I dont pump them and there fine. 10.5 ee wide, they hurt my feet a bit without the superfeet but there pretty close to perfect now. I tie them really tight, i still do get a bit of pain but its very little and usually goes away.

I enjoy the lace lock system very much. I keep my foot part really loose b/c of my wide feet but lace up the ankle part nice and tight.

Im the opposite. I get a bit of pain on the inside forefoot but besides that as long as i dont use the pump the skates arnt bad at all. I previously wore graf g9's there widest boot and they fit me perfectly. Stock insoles and i had no problems once they broke in. Superfeet is probably the best way to go though, at least if they dont work you didnt blow a bunch of money on them.

I hace the same exact problem as you plus the addition of super wide feet. i made the huge mistake of buying one75's instead of grafs but i did buy superfeet. i would not recommend them unless you plan on getting the custom made ones ( cost $100+ in most stores). the yellow ones which are made for ice skates have too high of an arch for a severly flat foot and will just cause you to have pain and bad lace bite (i actually had my lhs grind out ridges in the hard plastic support of the arch causing it to flex). ive had my skates baked and stretched to fit my foot as well. nothing has helped me to fit those pieces of crap bauer makes that people actually recommend. i would get the custom made orthotics from a podiatrist before even wasting the $40 on superfeet.

Hard to give suggestions because i have never used CCM but how is the arch in the middle of the boot, is it very forward sloping.?

i made the mistake too >.< well, i managed to punched the boot a bit. But, its not helping much. now im looking for GRAF lines. however, which type of GRAF? i still didnt know which is made for flat footed person with wide feet.

note: i dont think nike bauer or bauer vapor and supreme is good for flat footed person.

I put in a different insole. Dr Scholls sport insole in my skate. It worked very well and I didn't have the problem in my Nike Quest's. With my RBK 9k skates, I'm just using the stock insole but I baked them.

I haven't tried on a pair of CCMs but aren't their boots the same as RBK?

Just because they don't fit your feet don't mean they are pieces of crap. That's your fault for buying piss-poor fitting skates for your feet.
