Stick Question

Recommended Posts

If I can get them for approx. the same price would I be better off getting a pro stock One95 or a new retail Vapor XXXX?

Assuming you really don't care about the difference in the taper between the two sticks, I'd go with the vapor just so you have a warranty. Always nice to have that so if it breaks on the first shift, you can return it.

Which paint job do you like better? :P

Seriously though, both are great sticks. I would go with the Vapor though, unless for some reason the one95 has a warranty or has a curve you can't get at retail and really like. Or if you have enough money you don't give a shit about the warranty, go One95.

IDK, I love my pro stock Samsonov one95. I've tried out my buddies XXXX and didn't like it quite as much. Might have been because it didn't have grip though.

I've been trying to decide whether I should buy a few more or try out a Warrior AK27 shaft/some sort of blade haha.

If I were you I'd try out an ak27. I have one and its my all time favorite shaft, regardless of what blade I'm using with it.

i can vouch for the 8k, other than the looks part (stupid blue), for the price, it gives amazing kick/performance and its super light (v. close to 10k)

Its just a 10k shaft. I agree though its homely. I tried to paint over it but the 'griptonite' made it hard for any of the spraypaint to stick so i took some super degooper and mineral salts or whatever to it and its fine again. I'd prefer the 10k graphics any day, they release them to junior teams so hopefully im able to snag some during tryouts.

Ik this probably isnt the best spot for this ?, but i didnt want to start a new thread for a one and done question.

anyways, what are some relatively high lie prostock sticks? Im looking to pick up a prostock one95 from TSR ideally in a pm9ish/p88ish curve. Im constituing a high lie as 5.5-6.5 (even though ive never come across the later). 6 is prefered but ik with prostocks you cant always get what you want.

Bauer id has a kilger and a backstrom which are both 6, iginla is 5.5. You dont have to prostock to get lies that high, i prefer a 6 myself as a 5.5 iginla wears down at the heel for me

Ik, but if i can avoid paying 200 for a stick i will. The retail lindoros is a 6 lie, im just looking for some prostocks in a higher lie

I really want to, but I'm trying to track down a few RH open toe/midtoe blades first. Anyone have any ideas? I think AK's take standard blades.

Yeah it takes a standard blade. Hockeymonkey currently is out of them right now I think, but sometimes they have pro stock ak blades. I am not sure of any retail toe curve blades, other than the smyth..

Its very tacky, like original easton synergy grip type tacky.

Oh no, the 8k/10k's arnt near that tacky. They seem to be a bit less tackier then my warrior dolo grip as well.

the 6k has something similar to the U+ CL, they call it sharkskin or whatever, feels very weird

Snake skin, and it really is very different feeling, might have nearly the same effect but it is really different. The snake skin is a series of ribbing on the shaft every 0.5cm that causes your hands to not slide up and down as you hold it tightly.

The CL has a semi rough texture across the board, like very fine sandpaper.

If you're wearing at the heel then your lie should go lower and not higher.

I get plenty of heel wear as I use a higher lie. I pull the puck in close when shooting and lower lies don't feel right at all with slappers. So I end up stickhandling more with the heel of the blade. But unless I get a severely rockered blade it won't be very flat on the ice.
