Trion hockey weights

Recommended Posts

Usually anything added onto your feet that is weighted is not the best thing for your joints, I'm that sure about the skates but for running it's fine to do once and awhile but it's not recommended for everything you run.

I've read a bit on these and basically once the weights are off you start high-stepping bringing your leg back in once your stride is finished.

True. Joints and ligaments both. Having added weight that far away from your core is hard on your knees, hips, and ankles. Try a lightly weighted vest during non-contact and public skate sessions. Add weight if/when you feel comfortable with it.

Skate weights are a great way to get slower. Strength is best gained with compound lifts (deadlift, squat, pull-ups, etc.), but if you must add weight to train, do it in the center of your body.

a friend who used them while reffing beginner games had them but he ditched them eventually. even in the beginner games he was getting hit with pucks and the plastic cover was breaking.

I've had skate weights before but never the Trions. I had these:

only used them for public skates though.

i used to have them, but they kept dropping off in practice. Terrible durability, the locking pin would strip the teeth on the extendable portion of the skate weight. avoid!
