Finding a new curve

Recommended Posts

For the longest time, I used a Bauer Modin curve and LOVED it. But then, as is always the case when you find a curve/style you like, it went away.

Does anyone remember that curve, and if so, what's the closest curve like it, no matter the brand?

Hockeymonkey has some pro stock Warrior Dolomite Blades in a Modin for sale now. I had wondered about buying those, but chose something different. 20 bucks a pop.

Do you have any idea what the curve looked like? Heel, mid, toe, open, closed?...

I'd say it's a mid, but honestly, it was so long ago I might be wrong...

As for the hockeymonkey deal, I'm a righty and of all the blades they showed on their TV, Modin wasn't one of them.

Well, they are pro stocks, and Modin's is a lefty. They don't have any righties left anyway. Never do. They're always sold out, and I'm always left without a way of getting wonderful pro stock blades for cheap. No, I'm not bitter at all...

If it was Bauer, I'm going to guess it's somewhat open, since they wouldn't duplicate the lindros. So my guess would be something sakic like... Sakic is Easton, Draper in Warrior- P92 in Bauer- that ring any bells? Big mid, with some loft?

I actually bought one of those Warrior Modin blades. The best way I can describe it is that it's very much like a Drury heel curve with a little bit more of a hook on the toe.

If I had to guess, he's looking for the modin pattern when it was a retail curve, not his pro stock curve.. If I had to guess I would say it would have been either a P10, P106 or a P88, maybe a P71 as they were a common retail pattern at one point. Check nikebauerid.com maybe the curve is still on there under a different name.

Gold star for you, at least some members actually read the posts before answering.

I believe it became the P106 but I can't remember exactly. There were a lot of Bauer wood patterns that never made the changeover to composite.
