If you have anything besides an old aluminum shaft, that's likely a sign that it's getting close to breaking (or already partially is).

I'm gonna go with the stick's about to go.

if hes looking down the shaft at the blade end and its bending to the left, and he shoots left, shouldnt it be bending right (looking down from the blade end) if its about to break? unless hes got some sort of amazing backhand.

I think it's just awkward phrasing and he's really looking down the stick towards the blade from the top. Correct me if I'm wrong, OP.

The last half dozen or so TPS shafts I have broken have all broken on the back side, not the front. They break on the follow through, not when loading the shaft.

That would depend upon the shot? I'm imagining breaking shafts from taking too much ice with a slapper, I wish I had a wrister that would snap a shaft!

I've broken them on slappers and wristers in almost the exact same spot. The breaks are all within a couple inches and all on the back side.

just realised.. it doesnt matter what side is going to snap first (although now thinking about it, it will be the backside as its subject to more preasure), it should still be bending to the right (looking down from the toe of the blade) if you're a leftie like was discussed.

edit: what am i talking about.. shorter side.. durp.

Most people I see break the front side of the stick when they push down to load the stick.

I know most of the pro sticks that are cracked for sale at the sabres store have cracks on the back side of the shaft from follow throughs. Especially Clarke MacArthur that man cracks many a one95 and almost always in the same spot.
