Blade pattern tool

Good find. Thanks for posting this. I checked it out, and thought it was really neat. I am a big fan of the Drury curve, but ordered a XXXX Staal pattern. I think this will help a lot people.

It's weird, they put Drury as a mid-heel. I always figured it was a heel and never bothered to look closely in stores. But since they actually have products on hand they probably check out the newer patterns all the time and mark the variations.

Patterns have changed from year to year and even model to model on some of the pricepoint sticks. I question the lie of the senior Naslund and Sakic as being a 5 and that was on the first comparison I made. I do like the functionality, it's actually quite well done.

Agreed, I think some of the lie measurements are way off. Datsyuk is listed as 4.5. Or maybe they just measure it differently, but as long as it's consisted across the board then it wouldn't be too much of a problem for us.

Interesting. I choose a Bauer P88 and it lists a CCM Tavares as a 93 point match and an Iginla as a 86 match.

If I choose a CCM Tavares, it tells me the P88 is a 93 match but then tells me the Heatley is a 84 point match and no mention of the Iginla. Interesting, I'll have to pick these apart some to figure out how it's coming to that conclusion :P

It shows P88 Lindros as a 5 lie. I was about to buy this blade thinking it was a 6. Any idea what it really is?

I wouldn't trust this tool for lie just yet. A P88 is a bit under the P92, and a bit higher than the PM9.

It has been a 5.5 for years. I haven't had the chance to compare a current model.

Hmm still sounds like it might not be a 6. Im having a really hard time finding a neutral mid/toe curve with a 6 lie blade.

I don't think the p92 is a 6 is it? Besides it's a little too open for me. I might be interested in the Shanny though if you're selling it.

If you choose Tavares it won't give you the Iginla because it lists Tavares as a square toe and Iginla is a round so it won't score as high as the Heatley and therefore no mention of it.

At first I thot this was gunna save my life, but then i checked and realized that the thornton curve isnt even availible to compare, or even the yzerman curve.

Since it's getting harder and harder for me to find my thornton curve I'd really appreciate it if any one could give me suggestions to ne thing that is close to a thornton or yzerman

Toe shape was 2nd to last in importance, and based on the "blade pattern equivalency" point system (as I choose to call it) the 88 iginla and tavaris should closer clustered together based on more important features than the heatley.
