for what it's worth P92 (so as P88) is definitely lie 6!

http://www.hockeymonkey.com/bauer-blade-patterns.html

from experience I had 5.5 pro stock before so can compare the patterns - P92 wears on the heel for me making it higher lie, plus it's marked as 6 everywhere including the bauer site.

Lie 5 is really hard to come by apparently - I've been looking myself.

Every P92 and P88 I've ever seen have been a 5 lie. The P92 matches up just about perfectly with a Sakic and the Lindros has never been anywhere close to a 6. Both of those blades have significant rocker on the bottom of the blade and that has caused people to claim the P88 lie (for example) is anywhere from 5 to 7.

At first I thot this was gunna save my life, but then i checked and realized that the thornton curve isnt even availible to compare, or even the yzerman curve.

Since it's getting harder and harder for me to find my thornton curve I'd really appreciate it if any one could give me suggestions to ne thing that is close to a thornton or yzerman

CCM Thornton or Easton Thornton?

There was an Easton Thornton? I thought the ccm Thornton was a clone of the Easton Yzerman?

while I agree that it's harder to determine "the true" lie for rockered blades, Bauer itself states that P92 & P88 have lie 6 - check it out at www.nikebauerid.com

plus like I said I played with P92 for a month now & it's most definitely a higher lie then 5.5 I had before.

the confusing part is that lie numbers aren't consistent between different vendors - like easton's 5.5 is identical to bauer 6, and very close to warrior 5 - people on this board stated this before, and I now concur after spenting tons of time just the other day comparing various blades agains each other (just one case to point - Sakic/Naslund/Draper

Easton Thornton was the prettiest damn retail curve ever. It was a mild heel and not a banana like CCM's.

You say that the P92 is higher than a 5.5 lie and then you say it is identical to a 5.5

We have compared the blades and used the Easton numbers as an industry default to prevent the problem you mention of each manufacturer using their own system. Rather than compare the numbers from each manufacturer, we have assigned our own numbers that are accurate relative to blades using the Easton numbering scheme. The vast majority of our members have found those numbers to be more accurate than the manufacturer ratings.

what I meant was that when I had compared P92 (for which bauer states lie = 6) with another Bauer pro-stock blade with lie 5.5, I found from experience playing with each blade that P92 had higher lie.

what I said after that was that P92 with a lie 6 measured whatever system Bauer uses is about the same as Sakic for which Easton states 5.5 lie. Confusing - I know :)

Are you referring to the pattern DB on this site or something else?

I didn't know that you guys have normalized the DB to use easton's numbers - would make total sense if it was true since the DB shows lie 6 for both P88 & P92?

Now I'm confused.

Has the lie of any of the following patterns (Sakic, Naslund, Lindros, Iginla) actually changed recently?

I've seen Sakic 5.5, Naslund 6, Lindros 6 and Iginla 5.5 for them in most places I've looked. I'm fairly fussy and notice little/no difference when going from Naslund/Sakic.

That being said, this has the potential to be a really helpful tool. Thanks for the link.

That's why our numbers do not use the "official" numbers from the manufacturer.

I have a P106, and it's more of a wedge at the heel before starting to curve more in the uppermid-toe. That one (Krejci pro) seems to gradually curve throughout the blade. I thought a mid curve like P88 would match, although upon seeing some pictures it is not as deep.

There are no real mild heel curves with just a little loft at retail. The P106 was the most mild that I could think of. The TPS P31 that I use (same as the Bauer P72) is about as close as you will find in a mass produced blade.
