HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted September 13, 2009 I couldn't find this in a search, but what size is the nut that holds the runners in an LS2 holder? I need to change one of the runners on my skates, but I don't have any of my tools here, so I need to go buy what I need. Can anyone help me out here?? HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 Is it like a recessed allen head or a regular bolt?? I just tried a 5/16" socket on one of the skates at a friends house, and it's now stuck inside the holder. It slipped in pretty easy, but it's too tight to get it back out. Luckily I have two pairs, and I only need to swap one side, so I can just swap the other foots steel.
VakarLajos 5 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 depends on the skate. Some have the allen wrench bolts (Vapor XX line for sure, possibly some Vapor XXXs), the Vapor XXXXs and on will have a regular socket.Did you try putting tape on the inside of the socket wrench? HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 They're One75's so I'm assuming they'll have the regular socket head. I didn't try tape. Maybe I'll try that later. I think the problem was it was a 3/8" drive socket. It slipped in pretty easily, but once it was in there it was too tight for it to come back out. I wish I had my socket sets here... jrhky36 1 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 try an 8mm nut driver. if they are one70 he should be able to see if they are reg nut or allen bolt
Tailboard Jockey 25 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 I used an 8mm nut driver on mine, last time I tightened them.
jcp2 2 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 I have One75's as well, and use an 8mm socket to tighten and loosen the nut. To help getting the socket out afterward I keep a bamboo skewer in my socket set. I line up the middle of the socket with the skewer, tip the skate upside down, and get the socket out using gravity and some wiggling of the skewer. You could give that a try. HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 I ended up just taking them to the local Play it Again and getting them swapped for free. Thanks for the help though everybody. I'll have to figure out a way to get the socket out of the other pair of skates.
