Another serious injury in the KHL

Recommended Posts

So far we've had at least one carried off NHL ice in the preseason, I'm not sure how the KHL is worse in that regard. No medical care in the world can prevent someone from trying to main another player; NHL, AHL or KHL.

Actually if anything the KHL is better in preventing dangerous hits because the bigger surface decreaes hitting. However though like I said their medical care is piss poor

No medical care in the world would have saved the Ranger prospect once he collapsed.

No one could have saved him once he collapsed, but from what I've heard what Cherapanov had going on in his heart would have been caught if his physical had been properly administerred. Seems to me that Doctors here would have told him he had to stop playing, like David Carle. This is all heresy though, I don't really know if his condition was detectable, that's just what I heard.

the khl reminds me of crazy underground hockey. its a death race. if u die you die. they dont care about ya they treat their hockey players like animals.. carry them around in bags and dump them outside. this is russian mafia guys. i bet theres many players out there who are scared for their lives if they dont produce.

Supposedly he kept it from his doctors because he know he wasn't healthy enough to play. I'm not sure if that means he didn't get a proper physical or if whatever condition he had wouldn't even be noticed during a proper physical.

Just a rumor though. Quite possibly something the media made up for the sake of being interesting.

And lawsuits up the ass.

Holy shit yes. It would be on the news for months too. And in response to Chadd saying that any medical care wouldn't have saved Chrepanov once he collapsed, how come Jiri Fischer is still alive today? He collapsed too on the bench but thanks to attentive teammates and a very professional medical staff he still lives today

the wings dr sit right behind the bench and they can jump over the railing if needed and always go int the locker room between periods. all nhl rinks have an aed on the bench or right behind it.

who was the kid from either bc or bu that hit the boards head first on his first shift in college and ended up paralized? i think it was about 10 years ago.

If he had the condition that Cheraponov had, he would have died in any rink, anywhere in the world.

I think I read that half the guys don't get paid their full salaries, so that, plus the terrible medical response is pretty much a complete turn off.

Also AC was revived for a short time, so it's debatable if he could have been saved or not.
