Easton vs. Bauer

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'm looking for a little help in comparing sticks. Where I live, there aren't any Bauer dealers, or at least high end Bauer equipment. Recently I've used an 85 Drury S17 and now a 75 Drury SE16. I liked the quick snap release for shots when I used the S17, but puck feel and durability (blade) wasn't up to par for me. I'm currently using the SE16 and love it. Great feel, perfect flex, nice balance. I want to give one of the new Bauer one-pieces a shot, but don't have the luxury of a store to run to to make a comparison, and the last stick I used by Bauer was the Vapor XX. So, my questions are thus: 1) Which of the Bauer sticks (XXXX, X60, One95) compare to the Easton sticks (S17, SE16)?; 2) Which Bauer model's (Supreme or Vapor) flex most closely matches the SE16's 75 flex?; 3) For a Drury clone, am I looking at the P91A or the P91? My gut is telling me that the Vapor line matches the S17 lineup, and the Supreme line matches the SE16, but I don't trust my judgement.

I'll most likely have to order online or through a hockey shop, so I want to make sure I order the stick, flex, and curve that most resembles the SE16. If it matters, slap shots are pretty scarce in my game. I've read all about the mid vs. low kickpoints of the One95 and XXXX, but I'm not sure if they're that noticeable or not. Like I said, I'm looking at whichever model most resembles the SE16. Thanks for your help and input!

se16 would be xxxx, x:60, s17 would be closer to one95, one95s a little whippier than rated coz of the kick point and yes drury clone is P91/P91A only difference is lie, i THINK the A is lower lie

thing is the xxxx puck feel sucks while the one95 has one of the best blades on the market

One95 77 P91A would be the closest stick to the SE16 75 Drury.

Shaft shape might not work for you, that was my biggest beef with the One95 and I went back to my SE. SE shaft with a Mission pro stock blade is what I'm using, wonderful.

I have had S17 and have 0ne95 and se16. I would also say One95 is very close to se16 shaft is a tad bit boxier on one95. Se16 was my favorite stick untill I went to the one95. P91A is the curve you want

Those that used both the SE16 and and the One95, did you find any noticeable weight/balance issues? I skimmed through some reviews and some mentioned the One95 being a bit blade heavy, as well as having a thicker blade than most. Also, if the P91A is a 5.5 like the Drury, what's the lie like on the P91? Higher or lower? Thanks again for your input. I was leaning more towards the One95 to begin with; not sure of the reason. I was a bit hesitant about the noted kick-point differences, seeing as I only take wrist and snap shots. The XXXX basically states that it's meant for snappers, but the SE16 seems to have more of a mid-ish kick point, seeing as I can load it up but still get off a hard, quick snap.

No noticeable difference in blade and balance "IMO" If you liked the se16 you will like the 0ne95. I was on a stick search a little while back and I posted up some choices. one95, se16, dolomite HD, and 10k. Most people here said go one95. I went se16 and liked it alot, then i tried my friends one95 and its the best stick I ever owned. Not many people don't like the stick. And more importantly the blade doesn't crack like easton blades in a month. Just get it and stop staying up all night thinking about. ;)

P91 is slightly higher lie

The P91 isn't offered to retail though, am I correct? Only through the ID program, right?
