Pant Lowers

Recommended Posts

I've got a pair of the RBK NCAA pants (the same ones that thehockeyshop was selling), I believe they're a variation on the CCM 501 pro pants. They're probably the most protective pants I will ever own, I'm pretty sure I could get hit by a small van and still be OK. Is anyone aware of 'less protective/more mobile' lowers that would match up with the RBK uppers?

Tackla and CCM should both fit on there I believe and work okay. I have a pair of Tackla uppers with RBK lowers and they're perfect match fit-wise. I have a new Cooper upper which however has pads which extend down a bit more than the Tackla or CCM uppers. Also I found the NBH lowers to have large/stiff padding.

Would you say the Tackla lowers are any less padded than the RBK ones? I'd imagin the CCM and RBK ones are the same, but I'm sure some of the brains on here will be able weigh in with the various differences between the 501s, 502s, 520s etc.

The 520 is the one I'm most familiar with. As to the Tackla lowers IMO they have a bit more flexible padding on the front thigh area. The Reebok seemed to have maybe less padding on the back of the thigh though. Just my opinion, lol.

Hey guys, sorry for butting in but I realized this kinda has to deal with the problem I have. I just bought a pair of chicago blackhawks pro stock padded lowers. Now if I'm reading this correctly, I can get a pair of Tackla 5000's (not air though) or any CCM 2-piece and use these as uppers for these pants, right?
