pro stock stick question

I picked up a pro stock easton se16 of david perron's I was curious if there's anyway to find out what flex it is? Also I was just wondering why is it some guys black out the lower third of the stick?

if I remember correctly. I believe he uses a 95 flex stick.

Remove the end plug and look on the inside of the shaft, I know for sure easton and bauer will indicate flex there. Painting the bottom of the stick presumably reduces glare from a shiny stick under the lights in a pro rink.

I saw Sergei Kostitsyn painting his Dolomites black and asked him why. He said it was because he didn't like the color of the stick. Simple as that.
