Graf Ultra G5 Skates (please help)

I have a pair of Graf Ultra G5 Hockey skates size 9D. I am wanting to swap out the factory cobra 5000 holders for the Tuuk lightspeed 2's. For this particular skate, what size tuuk LS2 holder will need to be put on. The cobras are size 280R. I had a set of 280R tuuk LS2's that I had put on the skate just to see what they would look like, but they seemed to be a little short in lenght up by the toe cap. Does this mean I will need a size 288R LS2? Please advise!

I have the size 9 in a set of ultra g3's that I custom ordered with a 272 tblade. I would think a 288 would to long. Go with the 280.

You can put the LS2 288 on the G5. You will notice that you are more on your heels with the LS2 than the Cobra NT5000.

Pros: Increased speed / longer glide, larger surface area covered by steel (better balance)

Cons: decreased agility / side-to-side movement

What are the pros and cons with the 280 vs. 288? Its just looked as if the 280's were too short. Havent measured the 288's yet. Im thinking of sending them to George's repair shop and having those guys put on the size that is best. Does anyone know if the LS2 holders come in a size between 280 and 288?

The 280 will give you quicker agility but you will not have as fast/long a glide. Basically the complete opposite pros/cons of the 288. And no they do not make a size between the two. I have personally put a 280 on my size 8.5(272) 705 and the difference is noticable.

My Ultra G70s have a size 280 Tuuk LSP2 holder setup and they look just fine. 280 is the correct size.

288 is for 10 - 10.5 - I didn't like the extra steel when I had a pair of custom G35 size 10.75 - they had 296 on them and I couldn't get up to speed quick enough - I pulled my groin several times because of it - changed back to what my stride was used to - 288's
