Just took out Anderson on a drive via a collision. Could argue the hit either way but he did not try to get out of the way of Anderson like he should have.

This play on its own is one thing but this as well as the one earlier.

I am sorry but the only "punk bitch" i see in the video is the one who is punching a guy who has his back turned and is on his knees.

I dont see anyone even remotely getting upset. They stated their position as opinion as well.

It seems obvious that the quotes were used for exactly what they were supposed to. To quote your term in their response. Plus, you quoted a poster that didnt use quotations, adding to my confusion. Most people dont use quotations to denote sarcasm....just a tip to avoid further misunderstandings.

is it just me ... I don't see ANY fault in that play. Stuff like that happens in games when you're talking about 110% full tilt/full speed NHL hockey

Yes, stuff like that happens unintentionally all the time... it is part of the game. However, the league/officials still have the responsibility to enforce rules aimed at minimizing these incidents in order to protect a vulnerable player. Ballard made a hard play but he has to realize that taking that angle at that speed can result in those collisions... it is his job to be in control of his body and make sure he doesn't go barreling into the goalie. On that play, he was not in control. I have no problem with the penalty call.

I can see the call being made, I just can't see people throwing him under the bus for the play... I want my team to score anyway possible, people giving up or slowing down could result in a lost goal, goalies are human... they do let pucks squeeze out into the crease and what not from time to time and garbage goals still count

It looks like that Anderson may have gotten shaken up when Ballards stick got pulled through as he was sliding into the boards right after the he ran into him. It may be his stick hit his helmet or neck. You can see his reaction right after Ballards stick blade hits the around the helmet. It is around the 1:14 mark in the video.

I personally know Ballard, he is the nicest guy I've ever met, he didn't even know he hit his goalie and who cares if he hit Anderson!
