Oilers' New Years Eve in the News

Recommended Posts

Not picking sides or saying anyone is right or wrong, but after working in the food and beverage industry for a few years during school am I the only one who's wondering why they knew who the players were and still decided to try and nickel and dime them? I mean anyone that works for a tip knows you try to charge people the least amount possible when you know a large tip is coming... I mean come on, charging them shot for shot when they drank the whole bottle? Not a good way to get a big tip

That can be hard to explain if that goes against restaurant policy. Some places are pretty strict about those things. A dozen or so bottles of Dom (it was new yeas eve) takes that total up pretty quickly too.

I forgot most restaurants aren't permitted to sell by the bottle due to the type of liquor license they have, so you're absolutely right

After hearing how the dinner was arranged and things settled on I think the owner was just trying to get more money. Apparently the dinner was set up for 45 dinners of steak and lobster and they got charged $250 for chicken something isnt right.

They were also charged for 34 bottles of wine or champagne and 320 additional drinks, which included highballs and shooters.

Thats from the article. All that alcohol for 45 people in 2 hours? With a group leaving right after midnight?
