Arch support in Eastons for higher than average instep

Recommended Posts

So I finally switched from my old Tacks to some Eastons S-12s because they fit the width of my feet very well BUT after skating for about an hour I've noticed that the arch will need some support. I have a set of Shock Doctors but the arch in them is not going to do the job nor will the "Profoot" arch supports as found at Wal-Mart. Is there an arch support out there that would provide a higher arch support. I'm open to all options--gel, moldable, whatever.

Thanks much.

Have you tried Superfeet? Either the grey(old style) or yellow should give more support. Just make sure you get the correct size to fit your arch location best.

I concur on the Superfeet. Get the yellow newer ones. You could also see if you could get a hold of some Graf Sidas insoles. Also very good arch support and a nicely padded heel donut.

I'd highly recommend Superfeet. While many people think it's an arch support, it's really a heel support that keeps your feet in a neutral position. This will keep your feet from flattening out (one reason why I can't wear Eastons if my life depended on it) and stabalize your feet inside the boot. I have sold them with every pair of Easton skates and never had a problem with the customers coming back complaining. I've even had people who didn't buy them, had horrible pain with Eastons and came back later to buy them. I've sold them in every skate brand, snowboard boots and ski boots as well.

I wear Superfeet in everything, they helped me out so much especially in my skates and my snowboard boots. My feet has a normal to high arch but when I put pressure, they flatten out. My hip is better now (lots of problems with my right hip...bike crashes, a car hitting me, falling off chairs while drunk...), my knee and back pains are gone and my neck/shoulders are pain free. It's the only product really out there that is truly one step down from an Orthotic, and they're protected by a patent, so you won't find any imitators at the same level.

And no, I am not a rep for Superfeet. They helped me so much that I believe 100% in them. Read up on them on their website. Lots of good info. Never use gel in anything...doesn't do anything.

Eastons are not a good skate for high arches. Do you pass the pencil test? Are your feet hurting because you have to crank down on the laces to get your heel into the boot properly?

I just bought a pair of the eSoles eFit footbeds for my Easton skates. I had been using their footbeds for cycling and running for the past couple of years and they're really great. The eFit line is modular, you're given 4 different sized arch supports that velcro to the bottom of the main section of the footbed along with 2 optional metatarsal pads. This way you're getting semi-customization which is great if you different issues with either of your feet. I highly recommend the company, they're super easy to work with.
