Anyone hear about this. Watched bits of pieces of it tonight flipping back and fourth between the football game. Its a reality tv show where they make a team of players from Montreal and a team of Quebec players and play agaisnt each other. One of my teammates made the Montreal team, so I will be following very closley.

I was surprised to see one of the guys from my ex-beer league made it. Yvan Morin from Team Montréal !

Who's your teammate Michael? I want to cheer for MTL but i'm a big Bergeron fan so...i'm not sure.

MTL's goaltending looked weak this sunday.

First episode was stretched out way to long....3 f'inng hours. Tonights was to short lol, only half an hour. Montreal's goaltending is weak they have a guy from Jr. AA ( Jr. B for the rest of Canada) while the Quebec team has a guy that was in the LHJMQ for 4 years. Hidious, my teammate is defenceman, #8 David Gasser.

I was surprised by the first game, wasn't that bad at all. I had no clue they could hit like that.

Gotta love Bergy, he was putting on a show behind the bench ! (I think he took it too far for game 1, honestly)

Watched the first two periods cause my brother in law was at home specially to watch it with me. Changed the channel after he left. Montreal was way faster and dominated the two periods... if only it wasn't a full team of puck hogs they could have been ahead by a few goals. Not a big fan of "reality" TV and thus will more than likely not watch any of the other 7 games. It's a good concept but at the same time knowing where it comes from and who's behind all this...

That was pretty good. It sure doesn't look staged but it probably was a little.

Rough translation:

Bob: You won't talk to my players like this...I don't give a damn about your Stanley cup ring. Now shut the hell up.

Pat: First of all i didn't even talk. YOU shut the hell up. Who are you anyway? What have you done in life? What have you done, eh!?? You can't even find a job.

Bob: What have you done more than i have? You may have played but you've shit your pants in the corners all your career.

=D

Anyway, i just watched a period of the last game and it's just disgusting hockey. It's like a beer league with the old NHL rules, hooking, cheapshots, etc. I don't like it.

It's American/Canadian Idol brought to the ice with two hockey teams from two cities who hated each other when Quebec had an NHL team and still hate each other because both cities think they are better than the other and bla bla bla.

Now Pierre-Karle Péladeau the owner of the TV station this atrocity plays on wants to bring back an NHL franchise in Quebec. With this series produced by his wife nontheless, he is said to be gauging Quebec's interest for hockey to make a come back in Quebec... on top of raking in $$$ for that "reality show". The response in Quebec is actually very good but keep in mind that people get free entry to the Colisee Pepsi if memory serves me right so that really doesn't mean anything. will the same people show up to an NHL game when front row tickets are $200? I highly doubt it. Most of the people there are people who wet their panties watching Star Academie which is a clone of Canadian/American Idol and probably don't even give a rats ass about hockey. They just want the chance to tell people that they were there and perhaps even be on tv. Last Sunday my wife was recording the game for her parents who were out of town (happy to have a second tv downstairs where I watched real hockey lol) and I saw glimpses here and there and there were people in the crowd with signs that had the picture of some of the players printed on them and such. Retarded if you ask me.

Seeing the commercials on tv while watching other stuff is enough to make me want to vomit. Many of them act like they're the shit and all. Overall just a terrible show with NHL star wannabes, terrible announcers and a terrible ref who's there to relive his past as an NHL ref. Add to that Michel Bergeron who's reliving his past too and Guy Carbonneau who took the job and basically shot himself in the foot and made it more difficult for him to get another chance in the NHL IMO, although he'll be coaching the U18 I believe so that may save his ass on that matter...

Just when you thought things couldn't get any lamer... The series is over and I heard on the radio this morning that they will be holding a "Cup" Parade in Montreal. A bunch of Canadian/American Idol/Star Academie/insert reality show maniacs will be on the street celebrating Quebec's win. I nearly chocked on my cofee this morning when I heard that. Lamer than lame and makes me hate that series and the people behind it just that much more!!
