Easton S19 Pro Stocks?

Recommended Posts

So, what's up with these? I've seen a few on eBay and was thinking of picking one up.

Anybody know if they're anything like the retail sticks? Cuz I hear those are heavy, like 465 grams, in which case I'm not interested.

If they do weigh a lot less because they're pro stock or because they're an entirely different stick repainted, then that's better.

So anybody have any experience with these?

I don't personally, but my buddy bought one off ebay and it ended up being an se16 repaint. But most pro-stock sticks are nothing like retail as in they are better quality and more durable than retail, at least that's my opinion on what I've had and used. The weight issue is really going to depend on what stick it really is under the paint. And the weight is 473 grams on a retail s19. Hope that helps at all.

If you decide to go the ebay route be sure it is a true S19. Many (most) are repaints of ST or SE16. Pics of the taper may help.

Yeah I'm not really good at telling them apart, I might just get one, you can get em for like $130 shipped so it's not that bad.

Btw, Does anybody else here find that 470+ Grams for a stick that costs like $250 ($320 in Canada) a little bit...crazy?

470g is light. It's not like you are carrying around a brick.

Ok it's not a kilogram, but still...You should be thinking 370 grams for that kind of money. If I want a heavy stick I can buy it for $20...

Maybe you should start looking at jr sticks if you must have such lightweight sticks.

"For $250 a stick should be 24 grams, shoot the puck harder than anything ever and it better never, ever break."

Finally someone who agrees with me!

No but seriously, What's so good about the S19 if it's that heavy? The elliptical profile? You can get that on the S17 for $100 less...The "added durability", I think it's going to break before you can break 20 wood sticks...

Just don't really see why anybody would want it, ;)

Then again I'm no expert.

You do realize if i painted a 10k, x60 and s19 you probably couldn't tell them apart? 470 doesn't even sound right... i swear avg. was 440s.... same as every other topend stick.

since it sounds like you've made up your mind though on them, why not a crazy lite? Weight seems to be the most important factor in your decision.

Also, reason composites are so popular - warranty, possibility of using it as a shaft, weight difference (drastic difference mind you), performance, and believe it or not - durability. Reason sticks break so much is because people abuse them/freak accident stuff that you can't avoid.

I'd be all over a CL if I could find one for a reasonable price, and I'm 100% sure that the retail S19s are 460+ Grams

I find even 445 grams for a dolomite heavy, Vapor XX weighs the same... and costs 1/3 the price.

And I bet I can tell a X:60 and S19 apart, don't know about the 10K as I've never tried it, but I have an X:60 and Warrior Mac Daddy (425 grams) and there's a definite difference.

You don't happen to have a Crazy Light for sale do you?

But dolomite is new and the 20 is like 6 years old. Ofcourse it will be 1/3rd the price. I'm just saying if a stick is balanced properly (which s19 is) its hard as hell to tell them apart weight wise from a stick that is light as hell (kronik, 10k) that is unbalanced. Weight isn't all that makes a stick awesome and feel light. 40 grams isn't a lot either... one of my favorite sticks was a vapor 30 and it felt just the same as the new x60, just a tad heavier.

Yeah I know balance makes a big difference, but 60 grams? That would have to be perfection to make you not feel it.

Right now what I might get in order of what I want:

Easton S17 (There's a reason)

Another X:60

Warrior Kronik

Pro stock S19...

That's Easton for you. I never liked Easton sticks. I'd rather stick with the tried and tested ol' Bauer. Been a religious Bauer user minus one Dolomite HD.
