so i bought the iPad from BestBuy and they offer the extended warranty. for 2 years it's $109 CAD, or 3 years for $199.99 CAD. When it comes to electronics I almost always buy extended warranties because I have had difficulties in the past and the the extended warranty came through for me.

Now with the iPad, should I get the extended warranty with BestBuy or with Apple (for the record I do not know the coverage/values of the Apple extended warranty)? And how many years would you suggest?

Any help in this would be great!

Not sure if you've already made your decision, but I would definitely choose to get an extended warranty from Apple over a retailer. I had a problem with my Macbook Pro once, took it into an Apple store, and they replaced the screen within one day.

If there is an Apple Store near you, go with Apple Care.

Generally, Best Buy's extended warranty is garbage.

For those who have jailbroken their iPad and have a Wii, grab snes4iphone. It costs $6 from Cydia, but it's an SNES emulator that allows you to use a Wiimote as the controller. I've been rocking some good old NHL 94 for the last few days..

Are you able to print off of Safari with the iPad? My Mom needs a new laptop..and Basically if she can print with it, the iPad is more than she'll ever need.

Not positive but believe you can through wifi connection to a network or wifi printer. Call an apple store to verify. Will your mom be ok with typing a lot on a virtual keyboard? Some love them, others prefer std keyboards.

I did make my decision a while ago, but thanks for the input nonetheless.

i ended up going with BestBuy :( but i hope they can refund the "2 year extended warranty." Still need to make a trip to the Apple Store and inquire about their warranty plans.
