Elbow Pads

Recommended Posts

I need some new elbow pads but I don't know what to get. Basically I want moblility, something that'll dry out in a short period of time, and something that won't slip off my arm. I only wanna spend about $75 cdn. I would like some feedback on the Bauer 6000s, Nike V10s, Mission M-1s or maybe some Jofas. I'm asking because all the elbow pads are scattered across different shops in different towns and I don't feel like going to all of them to try them all on.

I recently picked up a pair of TPS Bionic

pads and they have been great. They have more mobility than a lot of the popular 2-piece pads (e.g., Nike V12, TPS Contour, Jofa 9177) and have a nice neoprene inner sleeve that adds extra protection and keeps the entire pad in place as a supplement to the normal wrist and bicep straps. Plus the neoprene sleeve can be removed to be washed and/or aired out.

They aren't talked about a whole lot here but they are still a great elbow pad for about $40 USD ~ $51 CAD.

The other pad I was evaluating for purchase was the Bauer 8000 pad which is a lot like the Bionic in that it isn't a 2-piece pad with a long elbow cap but it is a great 3-piece pad with great mobility and still very good protection. I only went with the Bionic b/c of the inner sleeve and the fact that they were $20 cheaper.

Good luck.

I bought my V-10's in the summer, and I haven't had a problem with them yet. I thought that the V-12's were sort of bulky and restrictive, tried on the V-10's and loved them. The memory foam is quite comfy and you get a lot of mobility out of these pads. I think that they were 60 cdn?

I have to agree. I just bought a pair of V12's. I really like them, but I'm not sure they were worth the extra money over the V10's.

I had a pair of Jofa's for 5 years before my V12's though that I really liked.

As always, V-10s, THG Nikes, and V-12s take the cake in elbow pads.

Agreed. There are some that look better, some that are more protective, and tons that are cheaper, but where comfort and mobility are concerned the entire Nike line is second to none.

Wow, those look like lacrosse elbow pads.

Just got my v10s and used them in a game. They're light and you get alot of mobility but it has been slipping alot off my arm. I kinda wish I bought the Jofa 9044s now...

I bought Jofa 5044s, essentially the same thing as the 9044s, and I really wish I would have gone with the V-12s. Nothing against the xx44's, they're a real great pad, I just can't get over how comfortable the V-12s are.
